Last week i changed a blade spindle. After changing the spindle and re-attaching the deck the mower didn't sound right. the deck blade was getting frayed/damaged on the top or wide part of the belt - i assumed it was twisted. Today i replaced the deck belt and there's a very loud noise coming from under the engine.

I put the parking brake on, started the mower and looked underneath - it seems the deck belt started to engage with the blade lever disengaged. The noise i was hearing was the deck belt engaging. The mower itself is only 2 years old but it has some hard hours on it. i'm assuming there's an issue with the clutch/engagement lever that starts the blades? I'm not even sure where to start.
