AGC membership gear prep
Story
I went to AGC this past weekend to get the discounted new member rate(which was an adventure in itself. And hour in line to get my card, a convicted meth head ahead of me who was high, guys try to save spots in line, etc…) and I left realizing just HOW DIFFERENT the experience will be than a indoor range!
I can’t bring the target in after each round of shots or each mag, I can’t pop out and grab a different paper target, there’s no rentals, I don’t even recall seeing benches at the “pistol” range.
All those “downsides” in the air, I’m very much looking forward to shooting outdoors, as well as gyms steel and holster badges.
I’m curious what other members take as supplies to a range day? I’m mostly shooting pistol caliber(.22lr, 9mm, 10mm), and occasionally 5.56. I would like to shoot a mix of steel and paper. I’m new to steel and it seems fun, but I also like tracking my groups on paper.
Guns:
.22lr FN 502 - pistol
.22lr Kriss Vector - rifle
9mm Walther PDP Pro SD Compact - pistol
9mm Shadow Systems CR920XP - pistol
10mm Stribog SP10A2 - PCC
5.56 LWRCi AR-15
Supplies:
Ammo
- Bring my own
- Target:
-Steel (are trees or similar allowed)
-Paper
-Vortex sporting scope(no tripod yet)
-Bog shooting
Point
I want to(and my guests as well) have the best possible experience when I go and regardless of if I have a guest, or if it’s just me. Is there anything I’m missing that anyone would suggest taking that just make the experience easier/better?
Mark IV Tactical vs TX22 TORO vs FN 502?
Hey all! Fairly new to .22lr, at least it more years than I’d prefer to announce, and looking for a reliable, non-picky pistol for my son and I to have some fun with.
I initially settled on the TX22 TORO, but my usual shop is have a hard time finding one and the only ones I see online are +$900.00. And that’s a ridiculously absurd price that I’m not even going to entertain. So no I’m back to the drawing board a bit.
I see plenty of Mark IVs so I’m sure they’re good, but are there any “gotcha” items people know to replace/look for right off the bat? The 502 looks cool, but I don’t know much about it review-wise. And then there’s the old TX22, should I just wait for it?
Which one of us is this?
Saw this little video from Matt’s Off-road Recovery and thought you’d like it. At first I thought the rust was a paint job, but it’s the real deal. That poor truck looks ready to fall apart but holds its own on the way out.
Edit: Colorado @ 1:18 if you want to skip ahead
SP10A3 with Rise 535 double firing
Just got back from my second range day and I’m definitely having some issues. I’m running the Lingle lower and HBI short stroke buffer in addition to the 535 trigger.
It seems to be double firing on the reset of the trigger. I tried a couple of times pulling the trigger and holding it and then on the release, it would actually double fire.
Admittedly, this is my first time modifying the internals of a firearm, but I followed all the instructions I could find as closely as possible. The pull and reset on the 535 are very light and short. I’m wondering if maybe it’s just not a good trigger option. I thought I saw that somebody else here was running one though.
Right now it’s primarily a range toy, but I still wanna make sure it’s safe to use and working properly. I’d love some suggestions.
Thought this crew would appreciate this! https://www.instagram.com/rallyready
