canik drip

I was looking thru the gun agenda last night I noticed that the drip was on the agenda for the meeting. There is no reason for this gun to be on the agenda. The mc9 ls was approved a long time ago. The only difference is the paint. You do not have to get approved for a same model gun that has already been approved just because of a color change. I do not know who summited it but this is a waste of time for the board and the one who summited it. Gun manufactures add and change colors all the time. As long as there is no change in the gun foundation there is no reason to do this. Im not a lawyer nor a specialist in this area. But from what I have been thru and what is one the boards information page and what I have been told I think what I have said to be a 100% correct

Everything is going to be illegal but training is still on the menu.

We've been asked a number of times now what's going to happen with training opportunities here in Virginia, and as far as we can see, we're going to be around until someone makes us stop.

With all the panic buying, now's a great time to learn how to run your gun or even try out a new sport. To that end, we've got the following coming up:

2-Gun Competition Skills - May 30/31 - Ever want to shoot a 2 gun match or just do well at one? Well boy, do we have a class for you. 2 days of running through competition skills and drills with pistol and rifle, running stages, learning the basics of stage planning, efficient movement, and mental management. It's going to be fun.

Tactical Athlete Performance Clinic - June 6/7 - Tactical Games competitor extraordinaire Zac is going to work you like a dog and then make you shoot guns. If exercising in kit is your jam, this is basically that but more educational. (This is a good class. I'm just salty because Zac calls me fat)

Advanced Application of Carbine Fundamentals - June 20 - Hit what you're aiming at every time. Performance on demand is the cornerstone of being good at gun. We will show you why you're bad and then we will fix you: Carbine edition.

H&R T48 Md legal?

Basically the title.

A few years back I was looking into buying an FAL and was seeing stuff about inch vs metric pattern rifles and saw some posts about the inch pattern ones (L1A1 namely) not being banned due to not having parts compatibility with the actual FN LAR/FAL, which is banned by name.

Now I’m still not sure if this is 100% accurate but to top it off I did hear that the t48 was converted to inch pattern which by the same logic should make it MD legal.

Now the FAL has been a dream rifle for me since forever so I sure hope this is true but I don’t want to get my hopes up too much as Md has a special way of crushing my gun related dreams lol

A PSA about PSA Magazine Sales to MD residents (in-store)

I was traveling south on i95 and stopped at the PSA store in Florence SC. Picked up two 15rd magazines and a 10rd - Proceeded to the cashier.

Cashier asked me for my ID, to which I presented it. She then said "Maryland, oh boy" - Looked at a sheet and said, "I can only sell you 10 round capacity magazines because you have a magazine restriction". To which I laughed, and asked if she was serious, unfortunately she was. I didn't argue or debate it, I just wrote them off immediately as Anti-2A.

PSA will never see me as a customer again, just a heads up for MD residence hoping to get magazines.

*Edit* - Take note of the multiple replies in this thread of those who have been denied a magazine sale in person at a PSA retail store. Do with that as you wish, I hope you spend your money elsewhere.

Thoughts on the Ruger RXM as first handgun? I’ve been looking at it for a while and honestly I think it’s just a nice budgeting off brand glock with optic..This is what I would be getting started with. Just curious on any thoughts and or recommendations anyone may have. Thank you!

Question about gifts

If my grandfather was going to gift me his New Super Model Blackhawk what would the process be?

We are both MD residents with carry permits and I’m military.

I saw something about going to a MSP barracks and I was going to fill out a 77R.

What the buy before the ban

Hey everyone,

I’m fairly new to gun ownership. Just wondering if anyone has recommendations on what to buy before the Glock ban goes into effect. Edit: Specifically the best Glock clones in your opinion.

Thanks for your help!

What would realistically happen if caught with legally purchased marijuana while being a gun owner/ccw holder?

Hypothetically, if police searched your home for an unrelated crime/accusation, and found small quantities of marijuana purchased from a dispensary - would your Maryland W&C be revoked? Would your firearms be confiscated?

Someone asked if I only did MD themed Mags

Nah I do all sorts of mags, and custom designs.

I make the majority of the designs myself with Adobe illustrator and the occasional AI assistance.

I’m good at single color designs, but haven’t mastered creating my own multi layered / colored designs.

The first image is some multi colored designs I purchased online to practice.

Multi layered / colored Maryland themed mags coming soon, once I figure out how to make them look not like shit

Handgun Roster Board Update (sorry it's long lots of information)

Here is the update on the Board Meeting. I spoke to the woman that coordinates everything. It sounds like there will be more board members there in June however 2 of the members are new and they replaced 2 of the pro gun members. One is a police chief so hopefully he will be pro gun but the second one is a doctor at Johns Hopkins in the gun violence area so I'm not hopeful about that one. Kim the lady that denied everything in March is not supposed to be in attendance.

This meeting will be a LONG MEETING!

  1. There will be a hearing at the beginning for one of the guns that was denied in the March meeting.

  2. After the hearing then the board will review the court case where the judge ruled they were arbitrary and capricious and vacated the denials for 4 guns. The Board will discuss that cour decision and make a decision about the 4 guns. Hopefully the court decision will set precedent and make the rest of the meeting go smoothly.

  3. They are pushing close to 200 guns on the agenda and they won't touch those until after the first 2 sessions are complete.

I still want as many people as possible to show up. However, they are limiting attendance in the room to 35 total people due to fire marshall occupancy restrictions or so they say. However, you can still come and if you don't get into the room you can still stand outside of the room or even stand outside and they can see you all through the windows the point is to let them know we are there and we are tired of the shenanigans. I'm getting there really early to ensure I have a seat in the room and will be taking notes. I will also have a prepared statement that depending on how the meeting goes I may try to speak before the board.

On a side note the Executive Director of Marylanders Against Gun Violence has been lobbying to get anit-gun people on the board. I will probably start playing that game in the future and try to stack the board with pro-gun people. There is one seat that could be filled potentially by someone who has a mechanical or electrical engineering degree. So if anyone meets that criteria DM me.

Lastly, with the limited seating the lady from Marylanders against gun violence does not get a guaranteed seat. So if a large crowd of us show up really early and just wait then she wouldn't get a seat and would have to sit outside. That would be hilarious and make her livid!!🤣 She would probably write a crybaby article about it. That all being said if we do this I would need people who are willing to give up their seat in the event some of the pro gun attorneys show up. We want them in the room because they are the ones that take the board to court. So for anyone who wants to go to this meeting if you DM me I could set up a private group chat on here for us to organize.

The meeting information:

Wednesday June 3rd at 11am Maryland State Police Forensic Science Division 221 Milford Mill Road Pikesville, MD 21208

New MD Ammunition Manufacturer

Hey Maryland! First of all, I received permission from the mods to post this.

My name is Zach, I'm the Owner of Golden Munitions LLC, we are a new FFL06 ammunition manufacturer based in Pasadena. We are actually co-located with FTS Inc, so if you're ever hanging out with James and the boys and want a tour or to hang-out feel free to ask to see if I'm in. All of our ammunition is new, not reman.

Our aim is to meet the ever-growing precision market, mainly with shellshock NAS3 and match grade projectiles. However we haven't forgotten our MD roots so if you've ever been that guy who needs M193/training ammo ASAP and don't want to wait for shipping then feel free to reach out to us. We will be selling our non-precision focused lines in-person mainly through FTS in Pasadena and Atlas Firearms in Sykesville and our prices are very competitive compared to the average cost of similar ammo at brick and mortar stores. (And significantly better than bass pro of course). If you have any questions at all or just want to get some insight on this side of the industry feel free to reach out or drop a comment!

Our website is https://golden-munitions.com/ but please don't roast me for any web design bugs!

Am I able to travel to Montana with my handgun?

Planning a trip to Montana in the next few months. I've been told by several locals that bringing my firearm would be in my best interest due to bears.

I'm a valid CCW holder in the state of MD but I have never flown with it. Is it even possible to do such a thing?

If someone can lead me in the right direction that would be great. Thank you in advance!

Gen 6 and frames

So I heard we might be able to get Glock gen 6 frames even if the gen 6 doesn’t reach the roster?
Does anyone know how this works? I’ve heard it from a few sources including gun store employees, but I know the frame is serialized so I was curious how to go about this

Person to person NFA transfers

I'm having some trouble finding the text of the law change from a few years back that prohibited face to face private sales of long guns. And the information online seems inconsistent.

Has anyone done this process with MSP after the change?Do you need to do a 77r for long gun private sales within MD now and then the transfer at an FFL or MSP barracks?

EDIT: I suppose I should clarify that I am completely familiar with the process we have had to do for decades now on person to person pistol and regulated firearm sales. I am also completely familiar with the process of buying suppressors from a dealer, and Form 1'ing SBRs, suppressors, etc. What I'm asking is: the last time I did a face to face rifle sale in MD was prior to the law requiring a background check for that. It was a non-regulated, bolt-action rifle. He showed me his MD state ID, handed me cash, I handed him a rifle and wished him good day. Now, we would need to go to an FFL to process this, or possibly an MSP Barracks as I've read on MDShooters. I'm asking if anyone has done a sale like this since the law has passed, and if so, what paperwork did you need to fill out at the MSP Barracks?

The second part of the question directly relates to the change of an NFA tax stamp now costing $0. Prior to that, it was generally unfeasible to sell an NFA item, but doable if you were ok taking the money hit. In a freer state an individual (or trust) can sell their NFA regulated item to another individual (or trust), intrastate, reasonably easy since it's all e-filed and there's no stamp cost. My question is whether there are additional Maryland state regulations on top of that specifically relating to an NFA item so that once the new Form 4 is approved, you'd still have to do the transfer at a barracks or FFL?

When the law changed regarding private long gun transfers, did that have encompassing enough language to cover suppressors? Are they considered "regulated firearms" by the state of Maryland?
