Instacart has no control over their “system”

I struggled to understand how this is possible.
I placed an order from Instacart through Gelson’s supermarket several of the items that were in my order were not in stock, which was actually OK because I changed my mind about what I wanted to make for dinner anyway so I had no problem with it.
Well, let me mention that I ordered from Instacart almost daily. I am very well acquainted with this system and so often items that are on my shopping list are not in stock and I understand this.
Well, this time about an hour after my order is delivered a second order shows up at my door with all of the missing items that at this point I didn’t want.
I could not figure this out what it happens
$67.65 including delivery fee taxes, etc.
How could a second order with a delivery fee that I didn’t order have been charged to my credit card and delivered to my house with no warning, without my permission.

Like a lot of companies nowadays it’s really hard to get in contact with a person so I use the HELP function on the Instacart app and I get an AI that eventually hooked me up with a
Service rep. I explained to them the situation. Which they completely failed to understand for quite a while, but eventually they figure The system automatically triggered a search for those items and then fulfilled the order!
Well, I tell them they can’t do that. They can’t just make an additional charge on my card which I’m sure includes a larger hold and delivery fee i didn’t count on or budget for.

They get a bit huffy now cause I don’t think they have an answer either.. and explain to me that if they items that are not in stock, the system will look for those items and endeavor to get them and bring them to me.
WTAF? Never read all the years I’ve been using Instacart has this happened before plus who could ever plan for their life? If there was an item that didn’t show up you could never go out and buy it another day when you’re shopping because Instacart might fullfill it at any time.
I explained to them that they’ve essentially used my credit card to buy something without my permission. And I want a full refund.
And then they explain to me there’s no way they can offer me a refund because the system triggered the action so there’s tans are tight and there’s nothing they can do. The best thing I can do is print out a receipt and go and return the items to the store which means I still don’t get my delivery feedback and I’m out the gas money and etc..
I’m absolutely flabbergasted that the company thinks that this is an answer. What is this ‘System’? Some kind of all powerful overlord?
I filed a dispute with a Better Business Bureau and I’ll follow up on it and not let it drop, but I’m just shocked by the whole thing.

I have a stopped up kitchen sink when I run the garbage disposal. The other sink fills up with water.

I don’t have channel locks and I’m not really handy so I called a plumber to come out and look at it and he wanted to see the outside drain trap wall or when he looked at it he told me the pipes look like they were crumbling under the crawlspace apparently and came back with the all of your pipes are cast iron some plastic. I need to replace about 10 foot of pipe.
This is an old house so I don’t doubt something like that could be happening, but wouldn’t he have at least taken off the curved PVC pipe underneath the sink to see if the drain was stopped up there he said he couldn’t run a snake because he’s afraid that the pipe would just crumble.
It just feels very ‘off’
And I’m not in the mood to spend $6000 on something I don’t need.

What book have you read where you were surprised when you saw who wrote it?

On a purely visual level I’m going with shel Silverstein.
Cannot fathom the editor who thought THIS face screams
Ttust Me With Your Children!
On a sexist level.
Trying to reconcile how Wally Lamb, a man, could have written a women’ viewpoint so perfectly in She’s Come Undone?
And universally… how could S.E. Hinton have been only 16 when she wrote the Outsiders??

I committed to Baldwin Wallace for their acting BFA, but just got off the waiting list for point Park.
I have a couple of other waiting lists that I am really hoping come through but right now this is my choice.
Ideally I would be going for musical theatre but a strong acting program is fine as well.
The ability to minor in musical theater or have access to vocal coach coaching and to be able to audition for the musicals is definitely important.
The truth is, I wasn’t eager to go to Ohio and I’m not really eager to go to Pittsburgh. I hoped to be in New York, but that didn’t pan out.
I do like the idea of a campus it’s like a traditional campus and that bit of a college experience and I know point Park is a vertical campus so I would miss out on that but I feel like point park is the stronger more well regarded program, but I just don’t really know so I’d love to hear your feelings and impressions
