ULPT Request. Can I change date on my cv if they ghosted reference requests?

I was in a consultancy agreement 100% commisssion basis for a law firm. I was taken on in August 2025 and let go in March 2025. However, despite assuring me they’d give references if needed, they ghosted multiple reference requests from my new employer which caused me to almost lose the job. My new employer chased them for about a month via email and phone. I know they definitely saw the requests. I had to end up getting references from kind people on Reddit who honestly saved me.

I’m thinking about taking a year long break from law. Considering my main concern is a legal gap in my cv if I did that, couldn’t I just say I was with the law firm for an extra year? They wouldn’t verify my employment regardless of how long I was there. I am the one to provide the actual contact reference details so only the dates on my cv would be adjusted.

Currently working at a devilcorp

Hi I’ve just stumbled across this sub and I realise that I’m working for a company under britevox which ive seen mentioned numerous times on here.

I feel very wrapped up and almost brainwashed into the sales role I’m in, I find it energising and inspiring etc but what everyone says on here is the complete opposite. I have a daily BA fee with some commission on top and I like the social culture of the job.

Can anyone break down to me whether me liking it is a bad thing?

We’re told the same pipeline of progressing to ownership. I’m currently in between jobs at the moment and it’s been hard thinking about going back to an office job because of the grey boringness of it in contrast. Genuinely asking here and I have an open mind

Hi I’m currently in between paralegal roles. I’ve completed the LPC and have 2 years QWE signed off. I’m just waiting for my SQE2 results in 2 months. If I pass then I’d be applying to be admitted as a newly qualified solicitor.

I have about 3 years paralegal experience across family law and commercial litigation/international arbitration.

I’ve always had an interest in IP and wanted to know what my next steps would be post exam results.

If I qualify as an NQ do I stand a chance at getting IP roles? Do I need to complete CITMA courses? Any other courses or paths?

I’ve researched this but it still confuses me a bit.

Would love a bit of further insight
