Cork City from above

Taken June 23rd 2026. You can see a lot of the development in the Maryborough/Castletreasure area, as well as the works for the M28. If you look extra close, you can see the Marquee tent. It also shows much land is taken up by Douglas and Mahon Golf Courses. They'll be worth a fortune if they're ever sold. Tramore Valley Park is also huge

Also, the southside takes up substantially more land than the northside

Decorative tiles hidden under paint, Patrick Street

I wonder what it would look like if they removed the paint

Søstrene Greene on Patrick Street, before and after

There is currently a lot of scaffolding on Patrick Street, with a number of buildings being painted. The first of those has been unveiled today. Painted facade, new brown lettering shopfront, new grey shopfront backing, and painted windows. They are also doing a remodel inside which I think will be finished this week

I am looking forward to seeing the buildings at either side painted too. It looks like the one to the right will be very different

Harleys Street, before and after side by side

Top is after, bottom is before. Yesterday, the council started to powerhose Harleys Street, which connects MacCurtain Street to Mary Elmes Bridge. I always thought it was a bit dirty, but only until you see it cleaned that you realise how dirty it was! Great to see the powerhosing of the City Centre going on lately

MacCurtain Street's urban garden

This little garden at the eastern end of MacCurtain Street isn't appreciated enough
