Global Horticulture Hub and Indian School of Agriculture announced at Madanapalle

At the event in Madanapalle, there were many reels and stories about tidbits from Anant Ambani's speech than what the event was about and what is in it. So, I went digging a bit and here is some information about it.

The event was to announce a "Global" Horticulture Hub and Indian School of Agriculture to come up in Madapalle.

Apparently, the plan is to attract about a total ₹1 Lakh crore investment into this. What is interesting is ₹40,000 Cr off the ₹1Lakh Cr is being pledged by the Central government and ₹60,000 Cr to be mobilized from the private sector.

The plan for the Horticulture hub is to setup clusters across the state and improve productivity and acreage of cultivation.

Of the ₹40,352 Cr of center's contribution, ₹20,884 Cr is earmarked for irrigation, ₹15,000 Cr for horticulture development and ₹4,562 Crs to improve road network across the hubs.

The other part is the setup of Indian School of Agriculture (ISA) to attract talent to the region and to improve scientific research, farming techniques and other digital infrastructure to monitor. Anant Ambani pledged investment from Reliance Industries to the School. I am not sure if Reliance is contributing anything to the horticulture hub though.
