Testing a thesis: people want to be known for their taste, not just save recommendations

I’m building Tenit around a slightly different recommendation thesis.

Most recommendation products focus on helping users find or save things. My hypothesis is that recommendations are also social identity: people like being known for good taste, useful suggestions, underrated finds, and niche knowledge.

Tenit lets users and creators build searchable taste profiles through recommendations. The creator angle is that recommendations shared through stories/reels disappear quickly, while a persistent recommendation profile can compound over time.

Would you start this as a consumer social product, creator tool, or niche community product?

Test my web-app for sharing recommendations and building a taste profile — Happy to return the gesture!

I’m building Tenit, an app where people can recommend what they love and discover others through their taste. The core flow is: create recommendations, organize them into lists, browse other contributors, save what you like, and build a profile that reflects your taste over time.

I’d love feedback on whether the app feels clear, whether creating recommendations feels rewarding, and whether the “taste profile” idea comes through.

Happy to test other apps in return and give detailed feedback.

Looking for early users for Tenit — a place to showcase your taste through recommendations

I’m testing an early version of Tenit, a social recommendation app built around taste.

Most apps treat recommendations as disposable posts, bookmarks, or saved links. Tenit is trying to make recommendations more personal and social: your recommendations become part of your taste profile.

I’m looking for early users who enjoy recommending books, restaurants, tools, films, products, places, creators, or anything they genuinely love. The goal is to test whether people want a place to showcase their taste, discover others with good taste, and get appreciation for useful recommendations.

I built Tenit so people can recommend what they love and build a taste profile — looking for beta testers

I’m building Tenit, an early app where people can recommend things they genuinely love and build a profile around their taste.

The idea is not just to find recommendations, but to let people become known for the books, places, tools, restaurants, creators, products, and ideas they recommend. You can create recommendation lists, browse other people’s taste profiles, save things you like, and discover contributors whose taste you trust.

I’m looking for beta testers to try the core flow and tell me whether this feels useful, fun, or unclear.

Blunt feedback is welcome.
