Engineer looking to improve

I’m a structural engineer who designs welds on a daily basis. However, only having welded a bridge for a school project years ago, I don’t know what is best practice.

So, I wanted to make sort of a reverse AMA where y’all tell me your grievances with engineers and designs you’ve had to fabricate and how we can improve.

Some help on this fitting

I’m trying connect a pressure washer to a reel and I’ve figured out the converter I’ll need is an M22 X 1.5 Male to M14 X 1.5 Female.

Is this commonly found anywhere? I’ve found some Chinese sites that custom make them but shipping time is a while.

Any job opportunities in Austin TX for entry level Field Engineers?

I’ve got a friend with a few years of residential and commercial construction management experience looking for a job in construction (Austin, TX). It could be anything entry level. Please DM me if you’re looking for a candidate. I can share his resume and recommendation letter. It would be greatly appreciated.

I recently ceramic coated a Lexus with pretty heavy metallic paint. With a detail light, it was incredibly difficult to see where coating was missed or where it needed to be leveled.

Does anyone have lighting tips? I’ve seen somone use a white board and shine light on that for a diffused source but I haven’t tried it. Anything helps, thanks.
