Thinking of quitting after 6 mos.; if you quit, your experience? How feel? Your approach? How long before feeling Ok/normal/good?

TLDR:
I’ve been on Wellbutrin for 6 months, and while it helped at first, I now have brain fog, emotional flattening, and cognitive slowing despite trying multiple doses and formulations. Tried to stop, felt exhausted, sad, unable to function. I feel stuck between staying on it with side effects or coming off and losing function—if you’ve stopped it, what approach did you use and how long did it take before you felt OK or normal again?

———

I’ve been on Wellbutrin for six months. I immediately felt an up leveling for the first few weeks. Albeit with some insomnia. I was very hopeful.

Before long I experienced many side effects, including poor sleep, brain blunting, head pressure, and fogginess.

I’ve tried 150 XL, 300XL, 100SR, and 75IR bid and other amounts. Still experiencing emotional flattening and cognitive impairment. Poor memory, difficulty with cognitive processing and an overall fogginess. I wish I could find the formulation that worked or the sweet spot.

I tried to come off once going cold turkey for a week and I was exhausted and unable to think and quite sad. I tried titrating up just a little and suffered a terrible week of barely getting by cognitively. This is incompatible with my work. So now I’m at 125 mg IR through cutting pills.

I’m wanting to feel better… more clear, feel myself, and think like I know I’m capable. Don’t know what to do. Feel damned if I do and damned if I don’t. Can’t afford to go dysfunctional.

If you quit, what approach did you use? How long before you felt OK or normal or good any insight thoughts or suggestions?

Defaulted on CO state tax payment plan, now in collections AND garnishment/levy threatened(final letter received- imminent). If I try to get new payment plan w/ collections what happens on the negotiation call? And will levies go on hold?

I have a very large state tax debt (Colorado). (Long story!) I had a payment plan set up directly with the Dept of Revenue and paid into it consistently for two years. When my financial situation changed (investments lost) and I asked to revise the monthly amount, they refused and instead sent the account to collections.

I’ve now received FINAL notice of intent to garnish wages and levy my bank account directly from State DOR. And I’ve received a letter from collections agency saying they’ve been assigned my debt, “pay in full now.” (I can’t- literally do not have)

My attorney has advised me to try to negotiate a new payment plan directly with the collection agency, but he’s temporarily unavailable now and I have many questions-the situation feels urgent given the garnishment/levy notices already issued.

A few specific questions for anyone who’s been through this:
1. Has anyone negotiated a new payment plan with a CO state tax collections agency after defaulting on a DOR plan? What was the process like?
2. Do they typically still pursue garnishment/levy while a new payment plan is being negotiated, or does opening or completing negotiations pause that?I’m afraid I’ll get new plan with collections, get levied by DOR still and then default again!
3. How much financial disclosure (income, assets) did they require before agreeing to a new plan? I’m afraid I’ll screw this part up. Not my wheel house.

My attorney is now off for the next week and time is of the essence. He told me yesterday that the IRS appeals had verbally accepted my OIC(offer in compromise) so whenever I have in writing (could be months) I can renegotiate with state DOR but I don’t think that helps me now. HELP!

I was so relieved with the IRS news and he was pretty nonchalant about telling me to negotiate with collections. But now as I’ve researched there are warnings of what to do and not do and so many questions have come up.

Trying to figure out how much to negotiate on my own this week vs. waiting for my attorney or sub to be reachable. Any insight from people who’ve actually dealt with state collections would help a lot!

Thank you if you’ve read this far!! And for any assist or insight! And if in another state, I’d still love to hear how went.
