What a coincidence.

Asking a similar question.

To be honest this would have made some really interesting and tense story and characters interactions in my opinion.

What do you think.

[SF]They Still Hold Hands. They Just Don't Know Why.

The World That Forgot How to Feel

Is it a dystopia? That's the question the world itself seems unable to answer.

Every human alive has a chip in their brain. implanted at birth, never discussed, never questioned. It doesn't erase emotion. It moderates it or suppresses it or Flattens it. A switch turned down so low the light is barely worth calling light. People still talk. They still marry, work, raise children, hold hands. But there is no laughter that breaks a room open, no grief that levels a person, no joy that overflows. The species kept all its behaviors and lost all their charge and charm.

The world runs in a strange, eerie quiet, not silence exactly, since people still speak but an absence of the sounds humans used to make when they meant something.

In a hospital room, a woman is in labor. Her face shows the faintest flicker of discomfort nothing more. No sweat, no cries, none of the violent effort labor is supposed to demand. Her husband holds her hand, not because he's comforting her, but because that's simply what others do here with no obvious reason. His face is blank as paper.

Then the baby is born, and screams.

It's the only real sound in the room, in the world, it feels like. Raw, unfiltered, ancient and true. Nobody smiles. Nobody leans in. The doctor lifts the still-screaming infant and places him into a machine shaped, almost mockingly, like a vase. the kind of vessel that once held things grown and blooming, now repurposed to hold something about to be arranged instead. In seconds, an AI-guided incision opens at the base of the baby's skull. The chip goes in. The crying stops mid-breath, cut off like a recording someone paused. The wound seals instantly, no scar, no evidence.

The baby is returned to his mother's arms. She holds him. There are no tears of joy. No trembling awe. Just warmth on her lap, and nothing behind it. The father rests a hand on her shoulder, blank as her.

Somewhere else in the world, this is happening again. And again. Every birth, every child, every scream cut short in the same instant a world of nurseries falling silent one newborn at a time.

Elsewhere, in another hospital, a father is handed the opposite ending. His twelve-year-old son has died in an accident, and the doctors wheel the boy's body out to him, still marked with blood. This is the moment that should break a man in half. Instead, the father looks at his son for a second, maybe two, and turns to the doctor to ask about "the next procedure."

He signs the release form without a tremor. He turns to leave without a final look at his son's body.

A few steps toward the exit, the doctor calls him back — a cloth bracelet on his wrist is stained with the boy's blood and needs to be burned, a possible infection risk. The father glances at it once and tears it off in a single motion, splitting it in half without noticing. It was a Father's Day gift from the boy now dead behind him on the stretcher.

He walks on. For a moment, his steps slow — barely noticeable, gone as quickly as it came — and then he continues, and exits the hallway in total silence.

Nothing on his face says he noticed.

A quick question. (`Δ´)

Can I skip v8.5 and directly start with v9.

Will it be

" yeah its fine you might miss out on some but not a big problem. "

" umm no. Without v8.5 you will not understand anything in v9 "

" yeah it doesn't matter "

Or something else

Does anyone requires a tall, blonde, goddess eyes, beautiful, gorgeous, clingy, sweet voice, strong, caring, rich as hell, smart, cute partner?
