Hello! I started shooting sporting clays maybe 6 months ago with my fraternal lodge which shoots once a month as a social event.

I have vastly enjoyed this and have been told several times that I should compete. I have been getting invited out to small team skill shoots and practices outside of the monthly events and now I have my first competition on 10/11 for charity and I am so excited!

I have a Yildiz HPS 12 gauge. Nothing special but it works for me and it was an affordable entry for me.

Today in WTF

This is how I found the disconnects servicing two AHU’s in the attic of my fraternal lodge. Not anchored to anything, literally resting open like that on the flex. I am replacing some dummy thermostats with some Honeywell Homes, but had to go up and get them hardwired as the old ones were battery operated.

So yeah, this is not the worst I’ve seen but it’s up there.

Memorial Day Primitive Overnight: Take 2

Sorry for the lackluster post earlier, I have included more details below!

Hit the Alafia River Corridor Nature Preserve. They have 3 free permitted primitive sites. We stayed at the Otter site which is 2.5 miles one way down the trail. Great time, got a little wet during a thunder storm but it was a good trip.

Unfortunately we are still under fire ban. First time use of my Clostnature single person backpacking tent, and the Wise Owl hex tarp. Both great pieces of gear.

Also took out my new Teton Scout 45L instead of my Explorer 65L to save some weight.

Memorial Day overnight

Thunderstorm hit us and I had to redo my tarp, but it was a good trip all around. 2.5 miles to the site.

My area of Florida is still under a fire ban so I spent the night wet, but it all worked out.

What Chefs Want bought out our produce supplier and it has been horrible. They immediately started delivering late. We have to order safety stock but they are so inconsistent that it doesn't do more than cost us extra while still having to 86 something a couple times a week. We have to call the driver almost every day to see where our stuff is and he will give us an ETA and still be 2 hours past that time.

Also their invoice system absolutely sucks. If we have to reject or credit something (almost every day) they don't provide an updated invoice because the driver has a digital one he alters, while we get a paper one, so we have to hunt down them down for an updated invoice with the credits which we never had to do with their predecessor.

They dont give a shit about quality either. I am not talking about agriculture stuff that is going on, I mean we have rejected two entire trucks these last two days, over $1,400 in produce, because the drivers truck A/C is busted and they are still making him deliver stuff out of temperature because they have not had it fixed or provided him a working refrigerated truck.

Seeking services elsewhere now, which is upsetting after 5 years with minimal issues. Rant over.
