The weirdest thing happened today. We met Larry's original family. Story below.

Larry was awarded to us about 9 (actually 11 months) months ago. We recently hired a mobile detailer for my husband's work truck and the appointment was today. The guy brought his wife and she took one look at Larry and said that's my cat!

So, get this: his person in their family was their young son, who's name is LARRY!!

Larry (cat) was part of a feral family that she adopted; she still has an uncle and a sister of his. Larry had been missing for 6 + months when he came to us. She had stopped looking for him because her nasty neighbor all but admitted to dumping him up by the freeway while the family was on vacation.

She has pictures of him as a kitten and young adult. He's around 6 years old. She doesn't want to take him back (thank God), she's bringing me his records this afternoon and was crying with joy knowing he found such a good home. His name was Puss in Boots because his eyes reminded them of the Disney character.

My husband and I just look at each other in wonder as to this mornings events. I mean, what are the odds??

Edit: amended arrival date

Let's see your creative ways to shade the veg gardens for next weeks heat event. Here's mine, Costco folding table, 60s bed sheet, table cloth clips and clothes pins. *fernley

Larry, my yard buddy has adopted the wild flower bed has HIS territory. As a first time amaranth grower, I had no idea their stalks would be tree like.

These and the sunflowers have created a shade garden in the american west desert. I will plant more thoughtfully with this in mind, next year ;)

I am enamored with this floor. Does anyone here recognize it: material, product name, real terazzo, something else? Thank you!

Is this a healthy, well fed Wolfie? He/she frequents my garage in the evenings. About the size of a .50 cent piece (u.s. currency). Northern Nevada.

They popped up on their tippy toes when I moved to snap a picture, then dropped flat to the floor and ran away. I think I scared them. Oops.

A gift from the cat distribution system. Here is Larry on guard over our field. Pic is fuzzy because it is zoomed in.

Larry came to us last September. He is my yard pal that sleeps inside at night. Feral no more 🤎

1978 Brick Ranch in Northern Nevada, USA. Cement patio where I assume a previous owner drilled 3/4" holes to facilitate drainage in a low spot. No gutters, unfortunately. We don't get a lot of rain, but when we do, it is torrential for about 20 minutes. This spot becomes a lake. They are currently packed with dirt, debris and rotting plant matter. 5" slab and holes go all the way through.
