Although ASUS has been around much longer, it's been a whole 20 years since the Republic of Gamers was created to bring dedicated products with specs and features for gamers and enthusiasts. Earlier this year we brought back a modern motherboard in the style of our first ROG motherboard in the form of the ROG Crosshair 2006. Since then, we've rolled out a complete line of products honoring the ROG Saga – some completely new and some existing products with new colorways. These products include everything you need to setup a top-tier battlestation, including gaming chair, mouse, keyboard, router, and monitor. Gamers looking for a pre-built option have a selection of the ROG NUC 16, and a pairing of the ROG Ally and ROG XREAL R1 in Edition 20 designs. You can find the full listing of ROG Edition 20 products here:

Where to Buy:

These components will be available for purchase as part of a bundle that includes all the products. Although they may sell out from time to time, they are also restocked fairly quickly. You may find them at the following locations:

ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20

https://preview.redd.it/krlolnbn12kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=115e5989f607f7269000062b36a2162418524249

The ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 is a masterpiece of engineering, visual flair, and performance. It features a curved AMOLED display that delivers dynamic 3D visuals and real-time data, and a transparent glass backplate. It also unleashes up to 800 watts with dual-power input via its detachable GC-HPWR adapter and a power supply. The card is meticulously cooled by a formidable quad-fan design, liquid metal, and vapor chamber for sustained peak performance.

Out of all the ROG Edition 20 products, the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 might do the most to separate itself from its closest ROG sibling. Combining upgrades to the cooling, power, and aesthetic of the original, the Edition 20 becomes an instant collector's item – but still holds up to the stresses of power users pushing for records or long gameplay sessions.

https://preview.redd.it/d3icn01v12kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=e36543a660529b34d229a40bc43c310eda014317

6.67" Curved AMOLED Display - Starting with the 6.67-inch 2K curved AMOLED display, the Edition 20 brings your very own Times Square-like display to your PC. Located on the right-side of the card, it won't share optical space with other common display areas, such as the I/O cover on your motherboard or large screens on your CPU AIO cooler. It's your choice whether you want to use the space to bring content to life with naked-eye 3D effects, captivating visuals, or real-time vital system monitoring information.

https://preview.redd.it/r92xzmzw12kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=50237b84a72b313e1e7e7c424efbe4f132e9ed37

Transparent Glass Backplate - In addition to the gold highlights throughout the design, the Edition 20 graphics card includes a transparent glass background adorned with subtle ROG accents, allowing you to look directly at the intricate PCB engineering beneath.

Cooling and Performance - Cooling and Performance - Fans of our ROG Astral cards already know the exceptional cooling that the heatsink design, quad-fan airflow, and the additional quality of life features (such as sensors) bring to make these cards a must for die-hard gaming enthusiasts. The Edition 20 graphics card brings even more to the table to make this amazing card capable of higher performance. The stock phase-change thermal pad is exchanged for liquid metal on the GPU die to enable incredible thermal e4fficiency and breakthrough performance. More importantly, we use an exclusive production method to contain the liquid metal within the die area for safe and reliable operation.

Dual Power Inputs - For those looking for extra power, the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 supports the ASUS BTF design, with an upgraded dual-input power design to draw up to 800W when using an advanced BTF motherboard via the BTF Graphics Card High-Power Adapter along with a direct connection to your power supply via a 12V-2x6 cable. This can give you up to 10% more headroom for the most demanding gaming and overclocking performance.

GPU Tweak III - One of the best features to use with an ROG Astral card - and the Edition 20 is no different – is our GPU Tweak III software designed for overclocking, fan control, graphics card monitoring, leveling the card in the system, and detecting when there may be issues with your power cable.

Recently announced for GPU Tweak III is a new auto-shutdown safety feature for models that support Power Detector+ to protect against persistent high currents, such as the Edition 20 card. This feature is optional, but combined with the ROG Equalizer, this gives peace of mind for extreme protection while your system is running. Download GPU Tweak III here

ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20 + ROG Ryujin 360 Edition 20 AIO CPU Cooler

https://preview.redd.it/ihjjkgox12kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=4c34d5db4a9f42f66ad273baca2b7793d5bc9e39

For those who pay attention to ROG Crosshair motherboards, the ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20 motherboard may look similar to the ROG Crosshair X870E Glacial. There are indeed some similarities between the boards, such as the EATX size, PCIe Q-Latch, magnetic panels, extreme power stage design, dual USB4 40Gbps and dual Realtek 10G ethernet ports, and our new AIO Q-Connect designed for the included ROG Ryujin 360 Edition 20 cooler.

https://preview.redd.it/n7xz1lky12kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=5c53f1df917ecca4b25e063e7eec97b48017f55b

However, that's not enough to represent 20 years of ROG innovation. To take this board to the next level, we did the following:

  • Cool the VRMs with a full copper heatsink
  • 9x M.2 slots are supported when using the ROG Hyper M.2 card and ROG Q-DIMM.2
  • The chipset heatsink and 3mm backplate heatsink draw heat away from the chipset to maintain optimum operating temperature
  • The socket magneticover doubles as a Crosshair Edition 20 Photo Frame, while the Crosshair Edition 20 Plaque protects the PCIe and M.2 slots when the board is not in use and can be mounted on a metal surface

https://preview.redd.it/6go9abwy12kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=fa4fcd909face0efd725e768323f165351473af4

Outside of these upgrades, the ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20 still maintains the best of our X870E motherboard lineup with a 24 (110A) + 2 (110A) + 2 (80A) power stage design, 10G LAN, WiFi 7 (320Hz), Server-Grade and NitroPath DRAM Technology, AI Overclocking, AI Cooling II, AI Networking II, AI Cache Boost, and the whole host of overclocking utilities designed for the AMD X870E platform. It also includes a wide-range of our most advanced EZ PC DIY components, such as the AIO Q-Connector, PCIe slot Q-Release, M.2 Q-Release, Q-Antenna, and more.

ROG Ryujin 360 Edition 20

https://preview.redd.it/zb6dnbbz12kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=252d2047251fa7fd907c69b8b502bb7f71f2a8ce

Within this ROG 20^(th) Edition bundle, one theme that's easy to overlook is cooling. Between the Edition 20 graphics card and the motherboard, many design optimizations have been made to ensure that owners of this collection can handle whatever they try to throw at it. The graphics card includes a thicker heatsink and liquid metal, while the motherboard uses copper heatsinks on the VRM, 3D vapor chamber heatsink over the primary M.2, ROG memory fan, and more. It would be remiss for the ROG engineers to forget about the other most important component for your CPU and your VRM - an exclusive AIO cooler.

Asetek EMMA 10th Gen Pump + Copper Heatsink - The ROG Ryujin 360 Edition 20 starts with an Asetek EMMA Gen10 V3Rx pump and a high-performance coldplate crafted from 99.95% high-purity copper. Between the copper heatsink and microfinned copper coldplate, it can lower MOSFET temperatures by up to 40C and lower CPU temperatures up to 10%. The AIO connects directly to the motherboard using our exclusive ASUS AIO Q-Connect, meaning you don't need to attach multiple wires or cables to get your cooler running or controlled.

https://preview.redd.it/dh50i0zz12kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=7a5ba3a0f0db438f0f82a00fecce3a5082bd3eb0

40mm 360 Radiator - The 40mm-thick radiator uses a counter-cross flow hex to path the liquid to maximize heat dissipation surface area and thermal efficiency. From there, the fans rated up to 95.65 CFM with 5.71 mmH20 air pressure helps ensure your system is running as cool as the rest of this aesthetic.

https://preview.redd.it/f7bgg52122kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=413fe918467dee9b17a7677c65394b1bcbc82f15

Dual 6.67" AMOLED LCD - The showstopper here is the swivel dual 6.67" AMOLED LCD that can be adjusted to the perfect viewing angle. You can set the display to run its own visuals as a single or split screen, or use ASUS InfoHub to seamlessly synchronize visuals between the ROG Crosshair X870E Edition  20 and the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20.

https://preview.redd.it/1fk6c5j122kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=210b6f075329feb13d866eab0143bebd47f2b93a

Choose between system monitoring options, exclusive ROG Edition 20 visuals, custom images or videos, or select preset options. ASUS InfoHub also allows you to turn off the screens and adjust the brightness.

ROG Thor 3000W Titanium III Edition 20 (ROG Equalizer)

https://preview.redd.it/mllxo7g222kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=b23ccf27d5f971e400a3416571566c04cfef7e00

Fans of our ROG Thor III power supplies will recognize many of the features of the Edition 20. For example, in keeping with ROG Thor tradition, it includes GaN MOSFETs, ROG heatsinks, 0dB technology, a magnetic OLED display, our patented GPU-First intelligent voltage stabilizer, and a 10-Year warranty.

https://preview.redd.it/myk6tre322kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=66472245d7116b1468ac0d18d660fa14c866a3fe

That's where the similarities end, however. On the Edition 20, the magnetic OLED display includes an extender, allowing you to place the screen in a position that might otherwise be blocked if it remained on the power supply. We've included the patented ROG Equalizer cable to help protect your graphics card with a PCIe Gen 5 power connector. This makes the Edition 20 power supply capable of handling any NVIDIA or AMD graphics card you might have.

The ROG Thor 3000W III Edition 20 is also a massive 3000W, which generally is designed for server implementations. Here, however, this means the power supply can support up to 4x GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards when on 220-240V inputs. For those who do not have a 220-240V input, the Edition 20 power supply includes a second A/C cable designed for 110V-120V environments, although the power supply will be limited to 1600W.  The power supply automatically switches the input depending on the cable used.

The ROG Edition 20 Components wouldn’t be complete without a mount to display their innovation, performance, and offer you multiple ways to display these products fit for the ROG legacy.

https://preview.redd.it/mm136fr422kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=8f831aa09416be2419dd893640ea2bfed89e53c0

4mm Aluminum Alloy Frame - Starting with a reinforced 4mm-thick primarily aluminum-alloy frame, the ROG GR20 provides an open-air environment to leave nothing between you and your Edition 20 bundled components. Three different placement options allows you to keep your system vertical, horizontal, or at an angle. Easily move between an everyday system to a hardcore benching system. A reinforced graphics card bracket prevents your card from drooping, while an integrated crossflow fan provides consistent airflow no matter which orientation you use.

Cable management – The ROG GR20 keeps the cables hidden with a 36mm-wide compartment behind the motherboard, providing ample space despite the size of the chassis.

Modular I/O Panel – The ROG GR20 includes two USB 20GBps Type-C ports with support for 60W fast charging. The panel itself can be moved across a line to place the I/O ports in the most convenient place for you to use. Another bonus is a unified front panel header to simplify connecting these all-important pins.

Fans of our ROG Thor III power supplies will recognize many of the features of the Edition 20. For example, in keeping with ROG Thor tradition, it includes GaN MOSFETs, ROG heatsinks, 0dB technology, a magnetic OLED display, our patented GPU-First intelligent voltage stabilizer, and a 10-Year warranty.

https://preview.redd.it/h3na0pjey1kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=500bbc6db49273f00602b467b1638ac8922f519d

For more information, visit the ROG Thor 3000W Titanium III Edition 20 Product Page or Tech Specs page for more information.

The ROG Edition 20 Components wouldn’t be complete without a mount to display their innovation, performance, and offer you multiple ways to display these products fit for the ROG legacy.

https://preview.redd.it/knal1zdfz1kh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=cfb107f919e4111f8d0b19d9c5c273aa69224927

Compatibility Measurements:

  • Motherboards: Up to EATX (12”x10.9”)
  • Cooling: 3x 120mm fans or 360mm radiator support
  • Graphics cards: Up to 368mm long (supports vertical and horizontal mounting)
  • Power Supply: PSU is mounted vertically; maximum length of 190mm

ASUS Summer 2026 Back to School Sale - New Year, Your Rules (US) (8/1 - 9/30)

For many of us with a lot of PC DIY experience, you may no longer be in school, but perhaps you have children now or family that needs a new system or upgrades to handle the latest software (*cough* games *cough*), be stable enough to ensure assignments get turned in on times (*cough* last through intense battles *cough*), and never miss an important lecture or video call.

But even if you don't have someone to build for, there's nothing wrong with taking advantage of one of our better sales of the years to improve your cooling, FPS, display, or anything part of your battlestation. Let's go through a few of the deals this year and see what makes sense for you.

Before we get into the deals, you can find our Back To School sales at Amazon and the ASUS eShop:

Need a few thoughts about what you might need going back to school or for someone getting ready for the same? Take a look over at our ASUS EdgeUp platform with these thoughtful pieces:

Motherboards and MiniPCs

We have fewer deals here this year than usual, but we have a couple TUF Gaming AM5 motherboards that provide the perfect jump into a solid gaming system featuring the latest AMD Ryzen X3D processors. If you're looking for a complete system with Windows 11 already installed, the ROG GR70 Gaming MiniPC is at a nice discount for this sale.

Monitors

While our monitor sales are often dominated by gaming displays, we also have several portable and professional displays mixed in among the OLED and Fast IPS displays born to take your gaming to the next level.

Cooling, Cases, Power Supplies

Essential for every PC, you always need a case, CPU cooling and something to power it. During our BTS sale, we have a few ideas for how you can find inspiration or upgrades for other new hardware that you need a place to install them, cool them, or power them.

Networking

It's fair to say that we have now reached a good time to think about upgrading to a WiFi 7 router. Many PCs, motherboards, and mobile devices can now use WiFi 7, so it may be time to think about upgrading your router. With ASUS routers, if you find you still need a little more coverage, you can take advantage of AiMesh to seamlessly add another router into your configuration to cover the gaps in your mesh network.

Gaming Peripheral (Keyboards, Mice, Audio, Controllers)

Back to School is a great time to embrace change to slough off the old you and get ready to meet the new and improved person you're trying to become, you have become, or heck, admit that your KDS will never improve until your gaming peripherals do. We've all been there. Fortunately, we have a lot of ROG peripherals ready to help you make that jump to glory.

Good hunting for those looking for a deal! Let us know below if you have any of these products and what you think of them.

FAQ

Q: What is the ROG Equalizer?

A: In short, it's a 12V-2x6 PCIe power cable for power supplies. This cable replaces the existing 12VHPWR or 12V-2x6 PCIe cable that powers graphics cards using a 12VHPWR PCIe power connector.

For simplicity, we'll refer to PCIe 12VHPWR and 12V-2x6 cables and connectors as PCIe Gen 5 cables and connectors.

Q: What benefit does the ROG Equalizer have over a standard cable?

A: Graphics cards that require a PCIe Gen 5 power cable can become damaged around the power connector when the power cable from the power supply makes poor contact or becomes damaged over time through connection cycles.

The ROG Equalizer is a cable designed to provide balanced power delivery, reduce cable temperature during operation, and gold-plated spring contacts to increase contact area with the graphics card power connector pins, which helps to prevent damage caused by excessive heat and poor connection. Additional safeguards, such increasing the short-term current capacity of the cable to 17A per wire, a visual indicator for connection status, designing the cable out of tin-plated oxygen-free copper, and real-time monitoring through GPU Tweak III Power Detector+ (coming soon) only add more value to the effectiveness and utility of the cable.

TL:DR: It gives you peace of mind that your card will be safe during use.

Q: How is the ROG Equalizer cable different than competitor cables?

A: Competitor cables, at the time of this post, generally protect the system by making it easier to visually check if the cable is fully seated in the graphics card and/or shut down the system if it detects anomalies.

The ROG Equalizer, on the other hand, is designed to build a powerful thermal margin on the hardware side. This allows the system to still maintain a higher safety headroom and operational stability when facing harsh or abnormal conditions. In this way, it balances safety without interrupting the experience of using your PC.

TL:DR: The ROG Equalizer is designed to handle situations with uneven power delivery and prevent the cable from achieving terminal temperatures due to poor connection or damaged pins without shutting down your system.

Q: Can the ROG Equalizer be used with any power supply or graphics card?

A: The ROG Equalizer is ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compatible. Power supplies that have a PCIe 12VHPWR or 12V-2x6 power connector are supported simply by replacing the stock cable with the ROG Equalizer cable, even for other brands. Similarly, graphics cards that use a PCIe 12VHPWR or 12V-2x6 power connector are compatible with the ROG Equalizer.

Q: The ROG Equalizer has two extra pins that do not connect to my power supply. What are they?

A: The two additional pins comprise the IVS cable on our GPU-First voltage sensing with patented-intelligent voltage stabilizer feature available on our ROG Thor III and ROG Strix Platinum power supplies. This feature moves voltage sensing for the graphics card from the CPU to the power supply, which enhances voltage stability by up to 45% even during demanding gaming sessions and overclocking scenarios

If you are using a different power supply, you can leave the IVS cable disconnected and it will not affect the performance of the ROG Equalizer cable.

Q: Will the ROG Equalizer be included with future power supplies? If so, how will I be able to tell if the ROG Equalizer is included with my power supply?

A: Yes, the ROG Equalizer will be included with select power supplies. Initially, the ROG Equalizer will be bundled with the ROG Thor III power supplies and ROG Strix Platinum power supplies. Power supplies with the ROG Equalizer will include the cable in its product name. For example:

  • ROG Thor 1200W Platinum III (ROG Equalizer)
  • ROG Strix 1000W Platinum (ROG Equalizer)

Please let us know if you have any questions about the ROG Equalizer Upgrade Program. We plan to have a more in-depth piece about the ROG Equalizer in the near future, but let us know if you have any questions at this time.

ASUS Prime Day 2026 Mouse and Mousepad Deals (US)

Hi all, I checked with the admin if we can share some of our deals with the r/MouseReview Community so I'll give you a mostly marketing-free group of deals from our Amazon store. I know that many of you have seen and tried our mice, but for those of you who haven't, I won't use this post to sell you on the features at this time. For Prime Day, we have a number of second and third-gen mice series around or under $100 and their first-gen counterparts between $50 - $75. Let's take a look at what's available:

A quick link to our Peripherals Store page where you can find our gaming mice and other peripherals is HERE

I don't think I need to go in much detail here. We still have our TUF Gaming Hatsune Miku Gaming Mouse (and the rest of the TGxHM collab peripherals) for those who still need something for their HM collection:

Although we have our top-tier ROG Harpe Ace Extreme on a slight sale, our main gaming mice in the ROG Harpe series and ROG Keris series are available at a good discount. Many seem to like the shape and grip on the ROG Harpe II Ace and the ROG Harpe Ace Mini. The ergo-shaped ROG Keris II Ace is still my daily driver at home for work and all gaming except for FPS. Although not listed here, the OG versions of the ROG Keris and ROG Harpe are 50% off.

A special shout-out must go out to Amazon for choosing to use third-party images for our ROG Harpe II Ace Lava Red edition...which makes it look anything but Lava Red....

Although the following mice each have their own charms, one area they standout is that they each use our swappable ROG Micro switches with Push-Fit switch sockets for those that want to customize or just be able to replace the switch if it fails down the road. The ROG Strix Impact III Wireless is also a mouse that runs on AA or AAA batteries, which some people prefer over other options.

Lastly, one of our more underrated products we sell are our mousepads. I currently use or have used each of the following mousepads and can answer most questions. We also have several others on sale for under $35, if you need a new surface for your mouse.

If you've already found your mouse from us or another brand, I congratulate you with hopefully being done with your Prime Day shopping and being able to look forward to what's arriving in the mail. If not, maybe you can find something here.

Prime Specials For Your PC Ecosystem - Prime Day 2026 is here (June 23-26)! Check out the deals on Amazon for the latest ASUS hardware and savings! (US) [Part 1]

It's that time of year again - no, not Black Friday / Cyber Monday - but the few days at the end of the first half of the year that we call Prime Day. Instead of posting a long list of deals as we normally do, I'll cover a few deals in more depth that are worth checking out.

Due to Reddit limits, I'm going to include component-by-component coverage in a second post, which you can find [HERE].

But first, here are the links for our landing page and all of the component pages if you want to jump right in and look for yourselves:

-> ASUS (US) Store (Includes MB): ASUS Amazon Store Landing Page

  • VGA Deals: HERE
  • Display Deals: HERE
  • PC DIY Components Deals (Chassis/PSU/Cooling): HERE
  • Mini PC Deals: HERE
  • Peripheral Deals (KB/Mouse/Audio): HERE
  • Networking Deals: HERE

Looking for some guides to help you pick some items? Check out our EdgeUp series for Prime Day:

Prime Day gives you an opportunity to select a component you need to complete a system or perhaps build a complete system if you've been waiting for the parts to come down in price a little. In looking over the deals, we have some great deals on a lot of different parts, as well as a pretty good option to put an ASUS Prime system together, which is where we'll start.

ASUS Prime Build:

Looking through our deals, if you're looking to put a system together at a great price, here are some options for you. You'll still need to get a CPU, memory, and drive (my condolences), but it should cover the rest of what you need. Here are the core components:

Total price (excluding additional fans and tax/shipping): $1,139.70

Hopefully this gives you a few ideas, but check out our second post for more details and information for your PC!

ROG Cronox GR801 and ROG Eurux Fans GR120 (Informal) AMA

https://preview.redd.it/oliiem41c48h1.jpg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=148a38042b86e3e066405ae19b3a211010aa3be0

I was helping out our Content Team to put together a couple of builds for an upcoming shoot with the ROG Cronox in both the white and the black colors, along with builds using the correct color fans. Since both the case and the fans are pretty popular around here, I figure I can answer some questions people might have in terms of the build, the experience, and anything else.

https://preview.redd.it/t0ur63p6c48h1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=889412e488df0581151aceffc24e34d52eaff0bd

From my perspective, I actually enjoyed building in the Cronox, and I'm seriously thinking that it might be a case that I'd be interested in building my own system in given that it has quite a bit of support for w/c options. It's not quite as heavy as the ROG Hyperion, and there is plenty of room to build in as you get things going without removing parts of the case. At some point, I also realized that I didn't cut myself or run into sharp edges during the build, which is very unusual.

For EATX boards, you can also see the 90-degree angle connectors for the USB 5G (USB 3.0) connectors, which simplifies the tight fit.

https://preview.redd.it/kxiujd0ac48h1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b065518b11d7738bbc9eb04127f99eee12adf793

Due to some issues with a cooler returned from an event, we swapped in the ROG Strix LC III 360 ARGB instead of the planned ROG Ryuo IV LC 360. Plenty of space around the CPU area made it easy to get this in quickly. To keep the RGB theme, we swapped in the ROG Eurux fans to match the rest of the system.

https://preview.redd.it/4z4n34sgc48h1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c7108de650d26c65cbe0668247dae4dab7d375aa

I spent less time on cable management than I'd have liked as we needed to finish this for tomorrow, but fortunately the ROG Cronox provides enough space for just about every cable. The cave in front of the power supply makes it simple enough to fit everything PLUS the ROG Eurux fan hub, which controls all 12 of the Eurux fans in this case. Although I would have liked to have seen a few more locations to secure zip ties, I also found more than a few places where I wouldn't have expected them.

For reference, that's an ROG Thor III 1200W Platinum in the bottom.

https://preview.redd.it/3nfx1b7mc48h1.jpg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db96b9686674b5017e2ad36a1fd493cd3e7a6c92

You can see the fan hub behind the cables. It attaches magnetically, so you aren't limited to use it in that location. Another popular place I've seen is to remove the 2.5" SSD holder and use it in that location. You'll still need to run a couple of SATA power connectors up to the fan hub, but it will likely make routing the fan cables much easier.

https://preview.redd.it/ywq4rtduc48h1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c68bfdd2dab7e598946ac56d142aeb9f09c26d26

I tidied this area up a bit more later on, but it's still a bit messier than I like to admit at this point. Still, there is enough room (although not much) to reach around the mess of cables if you need to thread one of the header cables behind it.

https://preview.redd.it/clavfevzc48h1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69a03b7fa74f83180d1651d240f2ee957efba29f

One thing that surprised me is that the rubber in the cable pass-through areas seemed to flex in odd ways that left a lot of space, especially when using the 90-degree USB 5Gbps connectors. However, it's less noticeable when looking at it up-close and when you have the back of the case installed. Personally, I would like to see a bit more of a flexible design in this area.

https://preview.redd.it/xqj21zspd48h1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99b8bb868a3a31650ae12c6c28d317b935286fac

As it is, I enjoyed putting this together despite the strict timeline. Here's a few more pictures of different angles:

https://preview.redd.it/1ln0n4fsd48h1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6859f5c55076fff712883847eda5a93c9528694e

For reference, that's an ROG Thor III 1200W Platinum in the bottom.

https://preview.redd.it/2fit1btmc48h1.jpg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4dbf27a57669f12200f91183b75cb8887ab0db6d

You can see the fan hub behind the cables. It attaches magnetically, so you aren't limited to use it in that location. Another popular place I've seen is to remove the 2.5" SSD holder and use it in that location. You'll still need to run a couple of SATA power connectors up to the fan hub, but it will likely make routing the fan cables much easier.

https://preview.redd.it/kq9yp8xsc48h1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=21f828a5a486ceacf44dc5a46d9887dbcdf19348

I tidied this area up a bit more later on, but it's still a bit messier than I like to admit at this point. Still, there is enough room (although not much) to reach around the mess of cables if you need to thread one of the header cables behind it.

https://preview.redd.it/8tkrwco0d48h1.jpg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9db4ad4d518c6ce7bacb823f3115f74b9d29e3f0

As it is, I enjoyed putting this together despite the strict timeline. Here's a few more pictures of different angles:

To continue our ROG 20th Anniversary celebration, we bring a new spin on a classic motherboard. Remember the first ROG Crosshair motherboard? This blazing fast motherboard featured a Socket AM2 to drive the fastest dual-core AMD Athlon 64 processors. Although the technology and performance are barely recognizable now, the same spirit that drove our early ROG engineers remains with our latest offerings.

The ROG Crosshair 2006 begins with our current flagship product for high-end gaming - the ROG Crosshair X870E Dark Hero - to bring back the distinctive design of our original ROG motherboard and then adds a few new touches. Decked with eye-catching colors and materials that harken back to one of PC gaming’s most important formative eras, the ROG Crosshair 2006 is the new motherboard of choice for gamers who demand the best of past and present. Similar to the Dark Hero, it features 20+2+2 power stages, ASUS AIO Q-Connector, Server-Grade DRAM Enhancement, NitroPathDRAM Technology, and AEMP.

This special edition is armed to the teeth with 2026’s most innovative gaming tech, with the latest refinements equipping users for a supremely easy PC building experience. Its marquee feature is a 2-inch OLED screen on the primary M.2 slot features an exclusive animation. This animation transitions from the old ROG logo to the new logo, symbolizing the evolution from the past to the present. The 2-inch OLED panel can also display useful system information such as CPU frequency, device temperatures, or fan speeds during normal operation. Users can also personalize the OLED display with their own custom images or animations.

Key Features:

  • NitroPath DRAM Technology supports up to 4x DIMM, 256GB DDR5, and up to 9600+(OC)
  • Server-grade ultra-low-etch PCB process
  • AIO Q-Connector, M.2 Q-Latch, M.2 Q-Release, Q-Antenna
  • 3D Vapor Chamber M.2 Heatsink
  • Extreme OC kit, including LN2 mode
  • WiFi 7, BT5.4, 2x USB4 ports, 9x USB10Gbps ports for extensive connectivity options
  • 3x USB 2.0 Headers
  • 60W Quick Charge 4+ via front panel USB Type-C
  • Copper-toned Metal Backplate

With our ROG 20th Anniversary announcements in full-swing, it's a great time to look back on the technology that brought us here today. What do you think about this motherboard? Which have been your favorite ROG Crosshair motherboards over the years? Let us know in the comments below!
