Beware bootleg Summertime '06 first pressings

Thought I got a good deal on the buttercream 2x lp version of Summertime but I got screwed. No hologram on the front - just a really badly printed image. Image obviously doesn't change at different angles. Back cover doesn't have the copyright text and the spine has the incorrect lettering. Doesn't even look like a gatefold, but it's still sealed so I'm not 100% sure. The hype sticker looks legit, which is frustrating. Didn't open it because I'm definitely fighting for a refund.

On a more positive note, if anyone has a legit copy of FM! they want to sell, please let me know!

PA didn't kick in until midway through Tip. Hell of a show, otherwise. Band was on point. Lots of smiles all around. Melissa was watching from the side of the stage and Daryl shouted her out.

[TOMT] Movie where main character gets a ticket for parking in a handicapped spot while buying shovels to bury a body

Just popped in my head and I can't remember for the life of me. A second character runs into the hardware store and the main character gets stopped by a cop because he stupidly parks in a handicap spot. I think they still have the body in the car, which added to the tension.

Deftones working song titles

The Ohms demos titles got me thinking. Anyone know which songs kept their demo titles all the way to the commercial release?

I know Lhabia and MX were the original titles. WP had some good ones, but i don't think anything was kept.

Prob my favorite working title that I just recently found out about was for Teenager. The working title was Sharing Needles. Wow! What a vivid image. Totally changes my feelings of the message of the song.

The day the demos leaked

So something interesting happened yesterday.

Deftones have a shelved album that has become legendary over the last 20 years. Barely anything has been heard of it and there were no signs of it ever becoming commercially available. The entire session leaked yesterday.

It's interesting watching their community. They are going through a similar emotional arc as Brand New fans back in 06.

That got me thinking - where the hell did the 06 demos even leak to? I can't remember how I found them, but I got them as soon as they were available. Was there a forum on fightoffyourdemons.com? They never found the person who leaked them, right? Anyone remember the mouse clicks you could hear throughout the songs? The person probably recorded their audio outputs lol

I'm surprised at how uplifting the songs are on Eros

Lots of major scales. Less chugging guitars. More melody lines. It really contrasts with Diamond Eyes, which isn't necessarily dark, but it sure as hell ain't happy.

Hearing Dallas complete with vocals felt like 20 years crashing down all around me

This has been wild. Guess i won't be getting any sleep today.

Listening to this feels like an alternate reality where Chi is still alive and they took a more upbeat turn after SNW. It truly felt like time travel.

Surprise for my Toronto poster order

Picked up this poster from the web store to commemorate a great show I lucked out on during my trip to Toronto. Turned out I got even luckier when I opened the packaging and saw the surprise waiting for me... anyone have this happen to them when ordering a poster?
