He’s starting to get it.

Thanks everyone for your advice! It seems like he’ll only need a few more sessions to get it down!

Trumpet embouchure leaking when centered

I'm trying to teach my little brother how to play the trumpet. I play trombone and have can make a sound on trumpet. When he tries to buzz the mouthpiece when it is centered, the air leaks through his corner. He can only make his best sound when he puts the mouthpiece where it leaks as shown in the photo. I checked his teeth structure and it doesn't constitute having it off-centered like this. The sound that comes out is also a sort of pedal tone.

What should he do to firm his corners and open up the center of his lips?

People in the US are lucky.

Maybe this applies to all kinds of orchestral instruments but I lived (but am going back) to the Philippines. One time, I got a dent on my slide and instead of the give or take $20-30 to fix it, I had to ship it to the other side of my country just to get it fixed. The shipping cost was 4x the amount of the 1000 PHP ($20ish). To get it back in playing condition.

Maybe I'm just salty but I wish I got to have convenient access to a tech. 🥲

Will my Nitro last?

I'm going to be heading of to college august. My brother is suggesting that I should get a new laptop with the grad money I got. I feel like my laptop still has at least 4 more years(bought it 2020) going for it though since it has 32 gb ram and 1 tb of ssd storage. He argues that I will have a hard time with battery life and the speakers dying. (I think i can just replace it). What do you guys think?

Would you buy a chinese stencil f attachment horn? Like I'm talking a mendini, huxley, etc. if you got to try it in person, it feels sturdy, and is the 1/10000 horn that works well?
