32“ IPS vs 40" IPS Budget Brands
Been looking for a new monitor for gaming and coding. I use to play First Person Shooters a lot but I only really need the monitor to be the standard minimum 120 Hz 1ms. I was leaning toward 40" a few months ago but I think I might get a 32" instead because I really just want the extra vertical space for coding and will pair with vertical monitor on the side. I have 34" right now and really like the easy of using 2 windows side by side, but a 40“ monitor might be too wide. But than again I can just use a windows manager toolbto center my monitor when I'm only using a single application. I wish they made taller 34" that got as tall as 32" the taller 37-38" are too tall and I didnt like the VA panel.
Most of the monitors I found are from brands I'm not familiar with. It seem like KTC is a good brand from reading comment in this sub.
I need at least 2, I for home and one for work. I was thinking for getting a 2170p for home and a more budget 1440p for work. Also with a high-end + low-end combo, I can compare them directly at home; and if I don't notice the benefits of the 2160p when gaming or the text on 1440p looks identical to 2160p when coding, I'll replace the 2160 with a second 1440p.
I found these so far for 2160:
Cruda for $247. Vasa mount is 75x75.
KTC for $450
For these for 1440p:
LG 32G620B-B for $250.
Thinking of getting the $450 KTC + $250 Cruda + $180 KTC. If the $450 KTC doesn't have much better contrast as advertised than the Cruda I plan to return it.
Edit
My Current monitor at home is a 34" 3440 x 1440
comments say budget VAs are worth it. Looking for only IPS
Thinking about it, I don't NEED to have an IPS at work. A VA would be fine and in an office the contrast might be a huge benefits since there's a lot of light.
