Hi everyone,

I already have a PS5, so most AAA/story games will be played there. I’m building this PC mainly for esports and PC-only/casual multiplayer games like:

- Valorant

- CS2

- Minecraft

- Apex Legends

- Sea of Thieves (in game pass thats why)

- GTA 5 (have it on epic)

- Forza Horizon 5/6 (in game pass thats why)

- Lethal Company

- It Takes Two / A Way Out type games

My goal is not to build an unnecessarily overkill PC. I want something smooth, reliable, and value-for-money for esports + casual PC gaming. Budget is flexible up to around ₹1.5L including monitor/peripherals, but I don’t want to spend extra just for the sake of it.

Current build I’m considering:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F

GPU: MSI RTX 5060 Ti 8GB Shadow 2X OC

Motherboard: MSI B650M Gaming WiFi DDR5

Cooler: Deepcool Gammaxx AG400 ARGB

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR5 6000MHz

SSD: Crucial P310 Gen4 NVMe 1 TB

PSU: MSI MAG A650BN 650W 80+ Bronze

Case: MSI MAG Forge 120A Airflow

I’m a bit confused about the monitor as well. Since this is mainly for esports, should I go for:

- 1080p high refresh rate, like 240Hz

- 1440p 144Hz/165Hz

- or something else?

I don’t want the monitor to be overkill for this setup, but I also don’t want to regret it later.

Please suggest if any component should be upgraded/downgraded for better value, especially PSU/RAM/monitor. Money is not the main issue, but I want the build to make sense for my use case. (extendable till 2-3 lakhs but ig that would overkill and waste)

Also shall I go for dual channel ram? like 16 x 2 or 8 x 2

actually 8gb is 3200mhz, can’t find 6000 one

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I’m a bit confused between the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 with RTX 5070 Ti and the Zephyrus G16 with RTX 5080.

The price difference is around ₹60,000 ($640) . Budget is not the biggest issue, but I still want to spend sensibly and buy the one that actually makes more sense.

For context, I’m still a kiddo and will be joining first year of college soon, so I’m not exactly sure how much time I’ll realistically get for gaming once college starts.

My use case is mainly:

- College/hostel use

- Daily productivity and normal laptop work

- Some casual gaming

- Mostly Valorant, CS2, Minecraft, etc.

- Story games are not the main priority because I already have a PS5 at home

- PORTABILITY ( I don’t wanna carry a brick so never took Legion or Scar or Rog Strix is considerations😅😅)

The G14 is appealing because it’s smaller, lighter, and more portable, which feels practical for college life.

But the G16 is also very tempting because it has the RTX 5080, more VRAM, a bigger screen, and especially the 240Hz OLED display, which sounds amazing for esports and overall smoothness.

I’m just trying to figure out whether the G16 is genuinely worth the extra ₹60k ($640) for my use case, or whether the G14 5070 Ti is the smarter and more practical choice. The 120hz display of G14 makes me sad🥀

Is the 120hz really a handsdown or is smooth enough?

Also is the G16 difficult to carry?

Which one would you say is the way to go for a first-year college student who wants a premium laptop but doesn’t want to overbuy unnecessarily?

Hi everyone,

I’m going to MBBS college in around 3–4 months and I’m planning to buy a laptop.

I already have an iPad Pro M5, so I think I’m mostly covered for note-taking and basic study work. Initially, I was considering a MacBook Pro M5 Pro/Max, but I’m not sure if I would be able to fully use its performance. Also, I enjoy playing games like Valorant and CS2 on my PC, and since I won’t be able to take my PC to the hostel, I started considering a Windows laptop instead, as these games don’t have proper native support on macOS.

I’m looking for a slim and premium Windows laptop that can handle some casual gaming as well. I know proper gaming laptops offer better performance, but I’m a bit concerned about their weight, size, and battery life for college use.

One laptop I’m currently considering is the ASUS Zenbook Duo UX8407. The dual-screen setup looks interesting and potentially useful for studying, multitasking, lectures, PDFs, and notes. However, I’m not sure how practical it would be for daily college/hostel use, and whether it would be good enough for games like Valorant, CS2, GTA, and maybe some COD/Battlefield at lower settings.

My budget is around ₹2.5–3 lakh.

My main priorities are:

- Slim and premium build

- Good display

- Good battery life

- Comfortable for college and hostel use

- Decent performance for Valorant and CS2

- Some casual gaming capability

- Not too bulky

Would the Zenbook Duo be a good choice for my use case, or should I consider some other slim Windows laptop in this budget?

I’d really appreciate your suggestions. Thank you.
