Rythm Gas Guzzler Flower

Gas Guzzler "Mixed Buds" Flower:
26.64% THC, 2.18% terps, packaged July.
$77 OTD at Rise (med) on sale down from $110.

Right out of the terrible plastic jar they insist on using for these, you smell gas and diesel and some funky notes. This is pretty loud for Rythm. With better storage, the nose has only gotten better over the last few weeks.

Taste is similarly gassy but you get some sweetness on the inhale before it turns all gas on the exhale. But that sweetness is pretty mild -this is mostly very straightforward gas. It's not complex. It's just big dumb gas. I personally really, really enjoy that.

These 14g/28g Rythm jars are always hit or miss on buds, but this had a really good mix. Some of the smaller buds are a bit airy, but all the larger ones seem to be good to go. Not terribly frosty which is to be expected at this price point.

Vapor production isn't the thickest, but it's way better than many of the recent very disappointing purple Rythm jars. Handles a 5 min session, but can't quite keep up with a 10 minute - but again, to be expected at this price point. (The terps are mostly tapped out around the 6 min mark, FWIW.)

Good effects - it's not the strongest weed in the Rythm portfolio, but at the reported THC and terps levels, it's respectable. Hits quickly but it lingers. Relaxing and uplifting at the same time. It's chill but totally functional. It's maybe a little lazy for daytime unless, ya know, it's Friday and you ain't got shit to do.

This is probably the best new option from Rythm in ages (during a really long downward trend for the brand on the flower side IMO), and easily among the best half zips/zips I've had on the med side in the past year.

TLDR: Straightforwardly gassy, good effects for the price. Would buy again for sure.

Alien Labs Atomic Apple / Connected Cannabis Tropical Z

Had no intention of trying out Alien Labs or Connected when Fluent launched them at $60. But these recently landed at Vireo during a 30% off sale, and curiosity (and boredom with the state of the med program at the moment) got the better of me.

Alien Labs Atomic Apple
33.38% THC, 2.26 % terps
$42 per 1/8th OTD on sale down from $60

The nose is pretty muted, which unfortunately carried over to the taste: I get a hint of apple peel in like the first two vape hits and then it’s gone. After that, it’s mostly gassy exhaust fumes with a little bit of creamy. I've only had a few AL/CC in the past, but what I have had has been pretty complex flavor profiles, and this definitely ain't that. The vapor output from the jump is definitely wispier than something striving for "top shelf".

The effects are on point. Body high pretty quickly, then a functional attention lock, all with a notably giddy mood shift. This is a fun buzz, truly. And the buzz has decent legs, for sure.

Worth noting: I can’t remember the last time I saw anything more than a trace amount of alt noids on a COA, and have to assume the healthy chunk of CBGa here is doing a lot of heavy lifting that the underwhelming terps aren’t doing.

While I’m not a visually-inclined person, even I can see this flower looks nothing like it should - not much purple to be seen here, which is a hallmark of this flower per ALs own description.

I’ve never had an “apple” strain I loved, but I’d argue if you don’t have The One That’s Gonna Change My Mind and/or you don't have it totally dialed in yet, you shouldn’t be charging $60 for it.

TLDR: long-lasting effects (thank you CBG) but lacking on scent/taste and seems not quite ready for primetime - at least not in a vape, I could see smokers having a better experience. Might try again down the road if I saw a particularly terpy batch on sale in the $35 bucks OTD range.

Connected Cannabis Tropical Z
30.64 % THC, 2.69% terps
$42 per 1/8th OTD on sale down from $60

The nose is loud and exactly as described: hella tropical and fruity. Flavor-wise it’s citrus peel that gives way to a significant soapy/cilantro component. That soapy-kinda-woody flavor really carries through, barely fading in a 5 minute vape session and even lasting well into a 10 minute vape sesh. She's got stamina, flavor-wise, although the flavor profile is pretty unbalanced away from the fruity side. Vapor output is strong and milky here.

The flower is respectably sticky and frosty, certainly stickier than the Atomic Apple. (After grind, both were nice and fluffy, FWIW.)

Effects are energetic as hell and hit fast, but fade fast too - way too quickly for something in this price range. It has a bit of a cokey-vibe, you’ll be craving another round in short order. Personally, that’s not the energy I want from MJ.

TLDR: Tasty and aromatic but its effects don't have legs equivalent to the price point. Wouldn't get again.

Rythm Fantasy Melonz Flower and Live Rosin Cart

"Mixed Buds" Flower: 27.60% THC, 1.93% terps, packaged July.

Smells great. Fruity and pungent. Unfortunately, does not translate taste-wise. Nice daytime effects, but it barely tastes like anything after 2 minutes in my DHV.

Rythm mixed buds can be hit-or-miss size-wise, but this had decent sized buds in the pack. Had a hell of a lot of sugar leaves though AND was .5g short.

Live Rosin Cart: 78.70% THC, 7.89% terps, packaged July.

I find that sometimes the underwhelming Rythm strains still produce pretty nice rosin - Rose Gold Runtz and Bananaconda spring to mind of rosins I quite enjoyed despite thinking the flower was trash.

This is not one of those, alas. Again, the fruity/tropical flavor is vague at best. Mostly you get an indistinct "earthy" vibe. Effects are fine and definitely better than the flower but I can't get past the lack of flavor.

I was hyped for something new and interesting from Rythm, but this wasn't it, alas.

How's The New Crop of Restaurants?

Looks like it’s Baedega, The Hideaway, the newest Gov Bradford, and Ceraldi from late last season? Am I missing any? Any good/bad experiences?

CAM Bubba's Girl "Cured Resin" Vape

I had heard mixed reviews on the hardware on the CAM AIO vapes, but I saw they have Bubba's Girl cartridges now, and they were on deep discount and I hadn't had cured resin in a while, so I bought a bundle.

Except they don't actually have cartridges now. These were the AIO vapes, just mislabeled on the Verilife site.

And they weren't cured resin. The ingredients are "ultra refined cannabis oil, terpenes" which doesn't sound like cured resin to me.

As I'd heard from others, the air draw does feel very restricted but it's pretty similar to the resistance on my DHV so it doesn't really bother me. I also concur with the others that the device barely holds a charge. Granted I haven't had a 1 gram AIO in years, but it felt like I was constantly recharging this thing to get a decent pull.

The oil itself was completely whatever, arguably one of the most boring things I've vaped in ages. But it was definitely not cured resin.

Curaleaf's Totally Organic Totally Transparent Reddit Commenters

Here's a short and most likely not comprehensive list of some of Curaleaf's likely Reddit commenters across multiple states (PA, NY, IL, FL and sometimes MD, NJ and Vegas).

And for anyone who wants to say "mAyBe I jUsT lIkE tRaVeL", it's worth noting that NONE of these states have reciprocal medical cards, so we're to believe all of these people have med cards in multiple states (where applicable some of these states are rec states).

We're also supposed to believe they have little to no positive opinions on any other brands but Curaleaf brands. They hype Curaleaf brands, they'll insert themselves into conversations about other brands just to mention Curaleaf, and they'll be the only positive comments on threads about Curaleaf.

They also swarm. You'll see them post in tandem on multiple posts in multiple states. We're just supposed to believe it's totally natural for nearly a dozen accounts to skip across multiple state subreddits casually chatting almost exclusively about Curaleaf brands, often on the same posts and often on the same posts the Curaleaf Support Team or the Dark Heart/Select/etc brand team has already posted on.

FWIW I came across two commenters who identify themselves as Curaleaf employees. I've included neither on this list, and neither one of those people posted across multiple states this way.
