Since when has having an appetite been a problem?

I genuinely don’t understand the “I barely eat” thing some girls do and I wanna know if this is something normal weight girls with body dysmorphia experience socially?

Like girls saying “I only ate once today hehe” or acting proud of having tiny appetites, skipping meals, or barely eating as if it’s cute or attractive.

It's not cute. It's pathetic and concerning.

I just don't get it.

Isn't eating supposed to be a good thing?

Sometimes I even get jealous of girls who can gain weight normally without struggling. Talking about some "omg I'm so fat", meanwhile they're a perfectly normal weight 🤣 Be grateful that you're able to gain weight while there are people stay underweight despite eating a lot of calories every day.

I’m not talking about people who naturally have small appetites btw. I mean the social culture around acting like being hungry or enjoying food is embarrassing.

Is this pressure common for average/normal weight girls? Like do people actually judge you for eating normally or having a big appetite?
