Warning

“All men are dead, except those who know.
All those who know are dead, except those who practice.
All those who practice are dead, except those who act.
All those who act are dead, except those who act with righteous intent.
All those who act with righteous intent are in grave danger!”

Direct modeling in steel

I’ve finished this piece using only welding; it took me a little over three months to reach this final result, starting from creating the model based on an image. I want to create some heat-treated coloring using an oxyacetylene flame and then coat it to prevent corrosion. What type of coating do you recommend I use? I welcome all suggestions, and thank you very much in advance for your valuable support.

Textures created on CR18- steel sheet

I am compiling a catalog of metal sheet texture samples, using primarily embossing tools to add relief and tungsten carbide tips to create textures. I would like to know if you are aware of any similar resources where I can explore other options for creating textures.

I've also tried to create some by welding and punching the sheet metal; I think that if I look to nature, I can try to replicate certain textures that might be more suitable for metal—for now, using only very basic tools.

Direct steel forming project using 1/4-inch wire rod

I'm in my first year of a metalworking workshop, and I started this project using the face of a Mayan deity as a model.
It's the size of an average face. I haven't finished it yet; I still need to weld over the joints of the wire.

So far, I haven't run into any major problems, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on this method, or if anyone knows of anything similar, I'd really appreciate it. Right now it weighs 5 kilos, with an estimated final weight of 15 kilos.
