How Goldfinger got his name - fun fact

Erno Goldfinger was the Hungarian architect of the infamous Trellick Tower in North Kensington, London aka Tower of Terror.

Ian Fleming named the villain Goldfinger after this architect, as he hated his style and the fact that Erno demolished a few Victorian buildings to make way for his brutalist house in Hampstead (where Fleming was a neighbor) - shown in the last slide.

Passage from the latest James Bond book. Thoughts? Good or bad direction?

This is from the 2023 James Bond novella "On His Majesty's Secret Service" written by Charlie Higson.

Hi there, hoping to level up my game and wondering if there are any good guides out there, academic style, teaching the fundamentals, underlying principles and concepts of plating - plate size and shape, proportion and focal point hierarchy, sauce placement, fine dining etiquette and expectations, differences in service styles (French, American, Russian), etc.

Ideally something a bit more structured or theory-driven rather than just inspiration photos. I’m interested in understanding the why behind good presentation, not just copying styles

What happens after close if I am holding a bull put spread on SPXW ?

Suppose I am in the green on it... in that case how will it resolve and is there any risk that I will need cash to cover some kind of assignment or stock purchase?

What if I am in the red on it?

Thoughts?

  • Architect: David M. Schwarz (2006)
  • Built in the New Classical style, this concert hall rejected modern glass-and-steel trends and was constructed using massive amounts of solid Indiana limestone, marble, and granite using traditional load-bearing masonry techniques and classical proportions
