first home inspection tomorrow for new home insurance — what is it like?

i live in nyc and i have a home inspection for geico home insurance tomorrow. i am a bit nervous because my dad won’t be home and i’ll be the one giving the tour.

do they go in rooms? in my bedroom i have my new kitten i adopted last week with their food, litter, supplies, and water. he is a bit skittish and i don’t think i’d be able to get him in a carrier on demand, especially since the inspector isn’t coming at a specific time. they’re coming between 9a-12p. my closet also has lots of bags of clothes inside.

[22F] how should i interpret my bf’s [24M] questionable comment on a post about a concert went to

my boyfriend and i went to a concert together back in january when we had been dating around 6 going on 7 months. i bought the tickets, but i ended up leaving early while he stayed until the end.

recently i saw a reel where a girl was standing in front of the concert marquee/sign joking that “dating apps aren’t working, just act confused and flirt at the concert instead.” her guy friend was in the video too. the caption also had hashtags like “wlw” and “mlm.” i don’t know if my boyfriend even noticed the tags or not, but i figured i should mention it.

my boyfriend commented “ball” with a photo he took of the marquee theater sign with the concert into under the post around the same time as the concert happened. we don’t follow each other on tiktok, so i only found the comment recently.

normally i wouldn’t care much about one random comment, but what’s bothering me is that he always tells me he barely comments or even likes posts because he feels like he doesn’t have to. most of the comments i do see him leave are usually about music, art, encouragement, or supportive things. so seeing him interact with this specific post caught my attention.

part of me thinks maybe he just meant “oh, i was there too” because he really loves this artist and was so excited. most of his comments pertain to this artist and their music. but another part of me feels weird because the whole point of the post was about flirting/meeting people there.

how do i make my new kitten know its bed time + am i feeding him right ?

today makes day 4 of being a cat mom to a 3 month old kitten and this is my first pet ever 😭 i’m rlly excited and already obsessed with him, but also rlly tired and a little worried. overall he’s actually doing pretty well. he drinks water well, uses the litter box, plays a lot, likes pets, purrs constantly, sleeps next to me/on me, and is super affectionate already.

my two biggest issues rn are feeding and bedtime.

  1. i can’t sleep 😭

i’m a nursing student in finals week and i desperately need sleep. whenever i try to go to bed, any movement from my hands or feet (even under the blanket) activates him instantly. he’ll crawl on me, jump at me, bite, bunny kick, and claw at my hands/arms/feet. i’ve tried saying “ouch,” freezing, redirecting him to a plushie his size that he likes to bunny kick/chew on, etc. and it works for a few seconds/minutes but then he comes right back to attacking me.

before bed i:

- play with him for a long time to tire him out

- feed him

- dim/turn off the lights

- leave low calming music/cat tv on

- leave about 1/4 cup dry food out overnight so he can graze

he’ll usually calm down, nap for a bit, then wake back up wanting to attack my hands again 😭

tonight i ended up leaving him safely in my room with food/water/litter/toys and slept somewhere else for a few hours because i genuinely needed sleep. if i consistently do a “night routine” then leave the room calmly, will he eventually understand bedtime/nighttime better? or am i accidentally creating bad habits?

  1. feeding/wet food confusion

when i picked him up, it looked like they mainly fed dry food with some wet mixed in. he definitely seems to prefer dry food too. he grazes on dry food throughout the day pretty well.

i feed wet food 3x daily but he NEVER fully finishes it. at first i tried 1/4 of a 3oz tiny tiger kitten pâté can with warm water mixed in. then i lowered it to 1/8 can because he still wouldn’t finish it. now i’m trying tiny amounts like ~1-1.5 tbsp mixed with warm water and some dry food and he seems more interested, but still doesn’t fully finish it.

i’ve tried:

- warming the food

- freeze dried chicken toppers

- mixing some dry food in

- smaller portions

he eats SOME every time, but never clears the bowl. meanwhile he’ll happily snack on dry food later.

is this normal for a 3 month old kitten adjusting to a new home? should i just continue tiny wet meals + dry grazing for now? i don’t want to waste cans constantly or accidentally underfeed/overfeed him.
