My rat Tuesday
This is my sad rat. Her name is Tuesday. I made her a patchwork coat and a flower for her hair to make her feel better. She's shy but seems pleased <3

Chocolate Chip the Patchwork Bunny and Turnip the Jerboa are enjoying a nice day in the sun in their new outfits <3
I posted here a few days ago about how the fluffy white fabric on the ears of my new smudge fox was shedding like crazy and basically falling apart in my hands. Well, it didn't stop. The fabric was clearly defective and just breathing on it filled the air with polyester fibers. Not exaggerating. Light pulling/brushing and I had big bald spots on both ears (the other white fur on the face is fine and barely sheds, and the tail sheds a bit but a manageable amount.)
I considered returning it, I probably should have just returned it, but since its broken and absolutely not safe for kids (chocking hazard) it probably would have ended up in a landfill and I didn't want that so I decided to fix it.
I tried matting the fur a bit so I wouldn't shed, that didn't work. I tried sewing it down and that looked terrible and also didn't work. So after a couple days thinking on it I ended up plucking out the remaining few fibers on the ears, sewing down the stray bits and sewing over it with a plush fabric I had on hand.
So, meet Patch the Fox!
(I'm not returning it but I will be reporting it to Jellycat because wow this is unacceptable and a huge choking hazard on a toy labeled "suitable from birth")
Hello! I have hEDS, POTS, MCAS, fibromyalgia and more. Sometimes I can walk fine and sometimes I cant, and over the past year, especially after I had surgery pretty much everything has gotten worse and I don't think its safe for me to leave the house without some sort of mobility aid. I have a cane that is great for around the house or small trips and it helps a lot with balance and not putting too much strain on my hips while standing. I tend to tip over without it because my eyes and equilibrium are all messed up. The issue is that my wrists and shoulders keep sublexing because I put too much weight on them when need help standing or catch myself falling. My PT really doesn't want me to get a wheelchair because she says the POTS can get better (at least back to how it was before I had surgery) if keep trying to gradually increase my exercise level and that I need to be pushing myself to keep walking or ill lose it.
So my question is, are there good mobility aids that can help me walk without injuring my hips and help with balance that don't put too much strain on my wrists and shoulders? Ive tried a walker and its a little better than the cane for my wrists, but I still sometimes dislocate or sublex my shoulder when I need to cling to something to avoid passing out. Atm I feel like I have to choose which part of me to injure whenever I move.
I realized I had never taken a group picture of all my jellies, so I gathered them up and here we are! I think this is all of them!
Let me know if you have any outfit ideas or if you want to know more about any of them! I am working on decorating little straw hats for the birds but they aren't quite done yet.
It feels like both not enough and too many. I try to be very selective with the ones I go for, but there are so many I want! Going forward I think Im going to focus on trying to find a huge soft winged dragon and a smudge cow and then maybe take a break for a long while to cherish the ones I have.
So I got some jelly mail today (brand new from the website) and I'm very excited! But my new Smudge Fox is shedding a LOT and idk if it's normal or not. Ive had other jellycats shed a bit, but this is different. I have a ball of white fluff thats come off its ears and tail as big as a golf ball (when compressed as small as I can roll it) and there's a bald patch on the top edge of one of its ears. The bald patch could just be that it's the odd end of the fabric? It's shedding primarily at the seams so I don't think the whole thing is gonna disintegrate, but idk it's just a LOT. The orange fabric is only shedding the normal amount for a new jelly. Ive been lightly pulling at it to release the loose fibers because my cat likes to lick new things (I try to make him stop, he won't. He wants to lick everything at least once when it enters the house) and I don't want him eating a bunch of polyester, and ive been at it for 20 minutes and it's still shedding! My office is covered in fluff. Has anyone else had this experience?
My new Medium Leola, Bashful Fox Cub (for my sister), and Mooliet Cow are perfect though! (last picture).
