How do I add this slightly protruding/3D snout?
I'd like to sew something similar to this for myself, and I can figure out the rest of the body I think, but I'm not sure about the head! 😅‼️

I scratched my finger ( and it still hasn't fully healed) yet while making horsea
Does anyone know if there are any good fish plushie patterns out there, I tried making a hand-made fish plush yesterday with a pattern I made but while everyone else likes it, I did not like it.
Duke is a posable, weighted plush artwork, 100% handmade, enjoy! <3
I'm rather proud of them! The legs are pretty annoying to make and attach though 😅 In the future I'm going to continue experimenting with this pattern and see if I can make one based off of a praying mantis! (My favorite bug)
They're also available on my Etsy store, so check it out if you're interested! https://crowsartandoddities.etsy.com
I used a wolf plush pattern, I couldn't find any other fox pattern I liked, unfortunately. It's been a while since I've made plushies so I'm rusty, but also this was rushed for a birthday present. One eye is more sunken in than the other, the limbs are too tightly stuffed, and I added a sack in the belly full of steel shot to make it weighted.
I'm talking about the lump below his head.
I've tried just sewing a circle but the finish line looks ugly.
For those of you following along:
I've had some set backs with life and needing to wait on extremely slow order processing/shipping fabric. The foot situation has been figured out and is looking good. Think the head might be incorrect but I'm waiting to get the horn and mane on before I rework the head. Overall I think mine is once again a little bit bigger than the original. Some shots to get people hyped. Pink pony is the new one!
Hello, all! My wife recently asked if I could make a custom stuffed animal for her, and I am at a loss as to where to buy plush fabric, now that Joann's is no longer. All the independent fabric shops in my area only carry things for quilting and upholstery. I haven't made a sewn plush in many years, and just don't know where to look.
Would anyone be willing to pretty please recommend websites and/or stores that sell good quality plush fabric? I am in Richmond, VA, if anyone knows of a place in the area, but I'm also quite happy to order online.
Thank you for any and all advice!
Enjoy this very skrunkly stage of plushmaking.
Fangs and tail tuft are sewn but not attached yet. They'll be sewn on after the main body is stuffed (which will take a bit...wish I had a build a bear stuffing machine haha).
Close!
I originally gave him a wire skeleton and am looking to upgrade to plastic armature. I’ve never used it and can use any advice you have! I included several photos to show how large he is. he’s over 6 and a half feet tall if that helps :)
Hi, I've been thinking about commissioning a 7ft plush of Monty for a while now, but I don't know how to go about doing so. Are there any tips to finding artists/hurdles I should know about beforehand?
Tested a body design for the character Zillow from the "Zillow on my pillow" storybook. I just love how fluffy looks every dr. seuss world characters 😁
I had no idea this sub existed! So long story short, I want to start learning how to make my own plushies, because I love stuffed animals but my country just doesn't have a big market for it so I have to buy online, where the cost translated into my currency + shipping is something I can't justify spending on a plushie.
I'm specifically thinking about making dinosaurs. They're a special interest of mine and I've wanted a feathered raptor plushie since forever, which is juust a little too niche for there to be any sewing tutorials readily available for it.
So where should I start? Any YouTube channels I should look into? What would be the best materials to use? My grandma and mom are both well-versed in sewing and have sewing machines available, and they would be happy to teach me how to use them, so I got that part covered!
