I am so exhausted.
I have just heard the news about Jason Arday, rest in peace.
This past month I have been seeing so much racial hatred in the media.
Now this?
What can we do about this?? How can we fight the racial injustice?
It’s all so draining. I’m exhausted.
I told a group of mixed gender colleagues at work that I split everything 50/50 with my partner and always have done since the first date.
They were all shocked!
I explained it’s just fair, logical and common sense this way. When I was single I paid for groceries, rent etc myself so now that i’m in a relationship going 50/50 is miles better and fair! Even with regard to meals, when I was single I paid for my own meal when out with friends, so why would I not pay for my own meal when out with a partner?
I thought I was going crazy trying to explain this to them.
I don’t understand why my colleagues were so shocked that my partner doesn’t pay in full for our meals, despite the fact I insist that we go 50/50 or pay for what we have chosen from the menu.
This led me to think that my opinion on splitting meals, groceries, rent 50/50 with a partner is an unpopular opinion.
Is that the case? And if yes, why??
