SOTD Day 6

SOTD Day 6

Morning shave after bath

7 days old stubble

Razor : gillette 7 o' clock super platinum plastic razor ( mistake, i was suggested in this community that this razor is to be used for 1-2 days stubble , but I still tried at 7 days growth to how it goes)

Brush : rubab firefly

Shaving cream: gillette lime shaving cream

Blade : gillette super platinum ( 2nd use , 1st use was 2 weeks ago, i guess)

Passes : two (hardly wtg/xtg) with multiple strokes at single places.( not satisfying shave )

Post shave : alum bar , rinsed off, gillette refreshing breeze asl, rinsed off after 5 min, then aloe vera gel.

No nicks or cuts or bumps.

Feedback : moderately stung over neck area , chin , below nose ( did multiple strokes there as it wasn't working) with alum bar and asl. (for 10 minutes)

Result : uneven with spots remaining over neck. Also, Neck area is also looking quite tanned today.

Want to be able to shave in 1 pass , will try to shave on wednesday, friday and sunday, to correct schedule.

Also, thinking to get pristine 515.

SOTD day 5

Morning shave after bath.

13 days old stubble.

Couldn't really find time to shave, and don't have a trimmer for now. Also , due to the tuesday, thursday and saturday rule at home.

Razor : Gillette sterling

Blade : Gillette 7 o' clock permasharp

Brush : rubab men firefly edition

Cream : Gillette lime shaving cream

Passes : 2 as 1st left one-third area as is. tried to do wtg + xtg (neck area was confusing regarding what would be xtg as my beard direction is backwards on neck so on first pass i did down-outwards , then down- inwards ). Then cleared remaining spots.

Cuts / bumps : 1 mild cut at right side of neck which closed with alum. Old bumps still over the adam's apple still there , although mild.

Post shave : alum block, gillette refreshing breeze asl, aloe vera gel.

Alum feedback : moderate (felt all over the shaving area)

I feel gillette super platinum blade is better than permasharp for me. Will try other blades in the future.

SOTD Day 3 ( evening shave )

Post bath shave

3.5 days Stubble

Cream : Gillette lime shaving cream

Razor : Gillette Sterling

Blade : Gillette 7 o' clock super platinum ( new )

Brush : Rubab men firefly

Passes : 1 pass wtg , although with a lot of overlapping. Then, Twice xtg on chin only as it was tricky.

After shave : alum bar, gillette refreshing breeze asl, aloe vera gel

Feedback : moderate both with alum bar and asl ( i poured a lot in my hand by mistake), and stung for like ten minutes around chin and and under-chin/ neckline beard area.

Result: this time i put a bit of pressure on the razor so that it stays on the face, not much though and result is closer shave than first 2 attempts although it stung much more too. A spot remained this time as well as before.

Also, 4-5 mild bumps have appeared below neck line since day 1. So, should I pause for a few days?

SOTD day 2

Pre shave : took a bath

Shaving cream : gillette lime shaving cream

Razor : gillette sterling

Blade : gillette 7 o'clock super platinum

Brush : rubab men firefly

Post shave : Alum bar ( feedback over the neck area), then gillette refreshing breeze after shave lotion ( no feedback ), then aloevera gel

Result and doubt : closer than first day , although uneven at jaw area as my beard grows towards back and down and its confusing whether I should shave in the downward direction or in the direction of beard as it wouldnt glide due to the weight of razor. Also should I use 1 blade for multiple shaves?

SOTD day 1

Shaved with a DE razor for the first time in my life, at the age of 25.

Beard age : 13 days old beard

Equipment used :

Pre shave : washed face with soap and lukewarm water, then massaged Almond oil , finally washed the face with lukewarm water again

Shaving cream : gillette lime shaving cream

Brush : Rubab firefly edition

Blade : gillette 7 o'clock super platinum

Razor : gilette 7 o' clock super platinum plastic razor. It wasnt cutting the beard much so switched to gillette sterling razor for the second pass

After shave : alum bar, then gillette refreshing breeze, then took a bath, and finally used boroplus aloevera gel

Passes : 2 along the grain, then shaved only the left out spots along the grain.

Alum feedback : felt slightly at the centre and one side of neck. And slight irritation hours later . No cuts or nicks.

Result: somewhat uneven, 1-2 mm beard left i guess , with some spots slightly more. ( probably because of beard age, and since i tried to not press much and relyied on gliding despite the lightness of razors, also the beard length ( and probably the almond oil) was causing clogging in the razors)
