Harrasment at Bandipur/Madumalai Checkpost

The policemen at the checkpost selectively targets Bengaluru based vehicles. Yesterday, they stopped us (We were 4 guys) at the checkpost, and started going through our car. They opened up each and everyone of our bags one by one and searched it like finding a needle in a haystack. But the worst part of it was the body frisking. They literally molested each and everyone of us. They deliberately thrusted their fingers down the waistline and also grabbed our balls. Many google reviews also mention the same. Anyone experienced the same?

Crowd at Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga

I think Shravan is over but the crowd here is insane. Its never this crowded on Monday early morning.

PS: Its the only Jyotirlinga having a dress code of stripping men of their upper clothes 🤦‍♂️

What is this half shirt removal custom in Kerala temples?

I recently went to Kerala wedding as a photography team. Before entering the temple, the guard instructed all the male members of our team to be completely shirtless and naked above waist. He also suggested that if we are not wearing any baniyan underneath then we can just open up one side of our shirt and let the other half stay on. I wondered what is this half shirt removal custom? I mean if stitched clothing is not allowed above waist we need to remove the full shirt right? A lot of male devotees inside were also wearing this half shirt

New dress code at Udupi Krishna Temple

I went to the temple in 2025 and could enter in normal dress. But since 2026 they have come up with a dress code where all male devotees must remove their upper clothes and be completely shirtless. Your thoughts?

Rare custom at Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga

I have been to 5 jyotirlinga before but I observed something unique at Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga yesterday. Before entering the sanctum the security guards made sure that all men were completely shirtless and were shouting “Gents log shirt baniyan nikal ke andar jayenge”. It was a nice experience on a hot summer day to be honest but have never seen a temple or jyotirlinga like this which mandates this rule. Been to a few places which only allows traditional clothes like dhoti kurta or baniyan, but have never been to a place where you have to be completely barechested (Yes, I had to take of my vest too, the guards were very strict that nothing is worn above the waist on the upper body for any males). Have you guys been to any Jyotirlinga or temple that follows this rule? Is there any reason behind this?
