I really hope Rockstar changes up Halloween in Red Dead Online this year

I’ve already seen Halloween Pass 2 come back multiple years in a row, so for October 2026 I’d really like Rockstar to do something different.

It doesn’t need to be a massive update. I’d be happy with something like Halloween Pass 1 returning, a new Halloween Pass, new Call to Arms maps, new Telegram Missions, or even just some fresh Halloween rewards.

For me, even a small amount of new content would give me a reason to jump back into RDO again.

What would you like Rockstar to do for Halloween this year?

Is anyone else getting bored with the lack of new content in Red Dead Online?

I’ve been playing Red Dead Online since around Christmas 2022, and I want to tell the truth about how I feel about the game.
I still really like Red Dead Online. That’s why it’s so disappointing seeing so little genuinely new content.
It feels like we keep getting repetitive monthly bonuses, returning content and repetitive passes instead of fresh major updates.
I would love to see:
New roles
New normal Call to Arms maps
New weekly events
A map expansion or new areas to explore
New missions and activities
Halloween Pass 1 finally return
More major content that gives us something new to work towards
I’m not saying Red Dead Online is a bad game. I still love the game. I just want new reasons to keep coming back and playing it.
After playing since 2022, doing the same content over and over just isn’t as exciting anymore.
Does anyone else feel the same way? What new content would make you come back to Red Dead Online? 🤠

RDO Enhanced should bring back better weekly updates

Small RDO Enhanced idea:

If Red Dead Online ever gets an Enhanced version, I think weekly updates should come back in a better way.

Not just the same repeated bonuses every month.

I mean things like:

  • small weekly challenges
  • limited-time clothing rewards
  • better event rotations
  • new discounts that actually feel useful
  • fresh bonuses for different roles
  • small veteran rewards
  • community goals
  • rotating featured missions

Even if Rockstar started small, weekly updates would make RDO feel alive again.

RDO does not need every update to be massive. It just needs fresh reasons for players to log in, play, and feel like the frontier is still moving.

RDO Enhanced should have new versions of the Outlaw Passes, not just repeats

Small RDO Enhanced idea:

If Rockstar ever does an Enhanced version of Red Dead Redemption 2 / Red Dead Online, I don’t think they should just repeat the exact same old Outlaw Passes again.

I think they should do new Enhanced versions of them.

Old rewards could still return for newer players, but the passes should also have new ranks, fresh veteran rewards, improved outfits, better horse gear, new gun wraps, camp items, and rewards that feel made for an Enhanced version.

That way it helps both sides:

New players get a chance at old rewards.

Long-time players get something new to work toward.

I don’t think RDO needs just another repeat. It needs a better version of what already worked.

RDO Enhanced Part 3: Why Old Content Should Be Expanded, Not Just Repeated

This is Part 3 of my RDO Enhanced ideas.

My first post was about veteran rewards and expanded passes. My second post was about long-term systems like camps, shacks, boats, wagons, wardrobe cleanup, and more things for players to work toward.

For this part, I want to explain my older ideas deeper so people understand why I think Rockstar should do this.

I am not saying anything is confirmed. This is not a leak. This is just a fan idea from a long-time Red Dead Online player.

The main point is this:

Old content should not just be repeated forever. It should be expanded.

For new players, old rewards coming back is good. A lot of people missed old Outlaw Passes, Quick Draw Club rewards, Halloween rewards, clothing, masks, camp items, gun wraps, and horse gear.

But for veteran players, just repeating old content is not enough. A lot of long-time players already unlocked those rewards years ago. If Rockstar only brings back the exact same thing, veteran players have no real reason to grind again.

That is why I think old passes should return in a better way.

For example, Halloween could become a proper Halloween Legacy Pass Enhanced:

Ranks 1–20: Halloween Pass 1 rewards
Ranks 21–35: Halloween Pass 2 rewards
Ranks 36–50: brand-new Enhanced rewards
Ranks 51–55: veteran bonus rewards

That way new players get old rewards they missed, and long-time players still get something new.

Halloween Pass 2 by itself would be boring for many veteran players if it came back unchanged again. It might be new for new players, but not for people who already finished it. Adding new ranks would make it feel fresh.

The same idea could work for old Outlaw Pass rewards too. Rockstar could rebuild or rework old rewards into a new system, then add extra ranks, new clothing, new gun wraps, new horse gear, new emotes, new camp flags, new buckles, and special veteran rewards.

I also think weekly updates should return in a better way.

Not just the same bonuses repeated forever. Better weekly updates could include:

  • weekly challenges
  • limited-time rewards
  • rotating missions
  • community goals
  • better role bonuses
  • returning clothing
  • new small unlocks
  • special event rewards

RDO does not need a massive update every week, but it needs more than the same maintenance-mode cycle.

Long-term systems would also help a lot. Houses, ranches, better camps, shacks, boats, wagons, storage upgrades, and wardrobe cleanup would give players more reasons to keep playing.

A ranch or property system would be huge because players could buy land, upgrade it, decorate it, add stables, add fences, build a camp area, and make the world feel more personal.

Even a small support team could make a big difference if they added better events, small missions, new rewards, expanded passes, and better communication over time.

Red Dead Online still has a community that cares about the game. I think RDO Enhanced should not just be the same old maintenance-mode version with better graphics.

It should be a real comeback.

Old content should return, but it should be expanded. New players need old rewards, and veteran players need new goals.

RDO Enhanced Part 2: Long-Term Systems Players Want

This is Part 2 of my RDO Enhanced ideas.

My first post was mostly about expanded passes, veteran rewards, and giving long-time players new things to unlock. This part is based on more long-term gameplay ideas that could make Red Dead Online feel fresh again.

If RDO Enhanced ever happened, I think it would need more than graphics. It would need better systems that keep players coming back.

Some ideas:

  • Rework deathmatch modes so they are simpler, cleaner, and more fun again.
  • Add a lobby system where players can vote on maps, modes, and maybe use custom loadouts.
  • Add more story mode clothing and items into Online.
  • Let players buy more things like boats, wagons, horses, and transport options.
  • Add more camp upgrades so camps feel more useful and personal.
  • Add small shacks or cabins that players can buy, upgrade, and decorate.
  • Expand the Moonshine Shack and camp systems with more rooms, furniture, bars, storage, and customization.
  • Add better wardrobe cleanup so players can organize clothing and remove items they do not want.
  • Add better item storage and camp lockbox management.
  • Add satchel upgrades and more inventory improvements.
  • Add more gun customization, including personal etching and custom categories.
  • Add a water/boat update using Flat Iron Lake, rivers, fishing, smuggling, treasure hunts, and new missions.
  • Maybe one day add Guarma-style missions or island content if Rockstar wanted to go bigger.

I think RDO Enhanced would need systems like this to make the world feel more alive. Better graphics would be nice, but long-time players also need new things to do, new things to buy, and new goals to work toward.

What Red Dead Online Enhanced Needs For Veteran Players

This is just a fan discussion, not a leak or confirmed news.

I’ve been playing Red Dead Online since December 20, 2022, and I still care about the game in 2026. But as a long-time player, I feel like graphics alone would not be enough if Rockstar ever did an Enhanced version of RDR2/RDO.

I think RDO Enhanced would need fresh content for veteran players, not just repeated monthly bonuses.

Some ideas:

  • Bring back old Outlaw Passes, but expand them with new ranks.
  • Halloween Pass 1 and Halloween Pass 2 could return together as a Halloween Legacy Pass.
  • Old rewards could be there for newer players, but new extra ranks could be added for veteran players.
  • Weekly updates should return with better rewards and more variety.
  • Add new clothing, masks, gun wraps, horse gear, emotes, camp items, and event rewards.
  • Longer term, houses, ranches, or properties would give players something big to work toward.

For example, a Halloween Legacy Pass could work like this:

Ranks 1–20: Halloween Pass 1 rewards
Ranks 21–35: Halloween Pass 2 rewards
Ranks 36–50: brand-new Enhanced rewards
Ranks 51–55: veteran bonus rewards

That way new players get old rewards, and long-time players still get something new.

I really hope if RDO Enhanced ever happens, Rockstar treats it like a real comeback and not just the same game with slightly better graphics.
