Any advice from people who “manipulated” ECA on their device?
Hi fellow citizens! Reading this you might think I’m the millionth citizen that got banned and is crying on the subreddit for an unban, I’m not so don’t worry about that :p
However, I did read about some people that got banned by EAC and read in the comments that EAC keeps a log, so I wonder if there are other people in my situation.
I have just over 2000 dollars in starcitizen which is a lot for me but I really like the game so, what can you do. This is however not the point of the post but I wanted to point it out so people can empathise why I would be afraid of losing my account.
In the past I have written bots or other software that automises games or perform other actions that involve reading the game memory, I thought (and still think?) this doesn’t matter since this is just a hobby, only used on offline-games and as far as I know none of these games use EAC since they’re offline and strictly single player. There is however one game I circumvented EAC, I’ve never gotten banned for this and always ran the game in offline mode and this game is Elden Ring. I did this because I have a wide-screen monitor and wanted to play the game on more than 60 fps. Again, never banned but at that time I believe I did use software to get around EAC since this would also flag you for a ban. I know this could happen for Elden Ring if you forgot to run it in offline mode but, I didn’t care since I didn’t want to go multiplayer anyway and if you got banned it was only for the multiplayer part (which, again, I didn’t care for). As far as I know I never got banned anyway though.
I do want to ask the question if you or players you know got banned for this? I still run windows 10 and have not done a system wipe in ages since I never needed it. However, know I’m afraid if some of that software is still somewhere on my pc and if I might get banned for it. I have 3 TB filled of storage and all these activities happened over the years (haven’t played Elden Ring in 3 for example) so it would be nearly impossible to scrub my pc clean of everything.
Tl;dr can you get banned from star citizen if you have ever tampered with EAC in the past?
If so I will just do a clean installation, thanks for your help in advance!!
