Anybody interested in being friends from here?

Hey M21 here, I go to UCSB and I commute and I don’t really have many friends here that I can talk to and hang out with after classes. I really wish that I had people my age that I could see from here and make connections with. I’m trying to expand my social circle more and I’d really like to get to know some ppl :)
I’m definitely more on the introverted side and quiet so it takes time for me to get comfortable around strangers.

I regret everything because I’ve never had friends to go or try things out with

Everyone else around me seems to have had friends that they’ve done things with. Ever since they were younger they’d always go after school to their house and play games or go to the park maybe. Those moments were very fleeting and sparse, but I remember them well. Then as we got older, my moments became sparser and sparser; for others, they seem have to become greater and greater. I completely missed out on socializing in high school due to COVID, as well as the fact that very many people talked behind my back there. I only have one close friend from there but now I live nowhere near my hometown, and my close friend now is busy dating and experiencing new things with other closer friends. While I was near top of my class in high school, I might as well have failed the socializing part because no one cared for me there. Now I’m in college and nothing has improved, contrary to what ppl in the former told me. The only new experiences I’ve gotten here is dealing with a roommate who doesn’t even speak the same language as I do, going to clubs and then being spoken down to there, and working in pairs with people in class whom I can’t listen to because it’s too loud in the class and they seem disinterested in me. Granted, I’ve done many things here on my own, but I’m getting tired of experiencing everything myself. I want to experience things with friends. Like, go out the night somewhere and have fun, no alcohol, but like something safe and healthy but also still adventurous. I want people who I can trust and are on the same plane as me. I don’t want to be spoken down to anymore or have to teach others, because those are the only two things that seem to happen with me and other people. I don’t understand why I have to bear this onus because I don’t know what I deserved to look in from the inside at everyone else on the outside.

Gym/exercise classes

Hi yall,
I’m really interested to get into gym classes or maybe martial arts classes provided here at UCSB. However they seem to cost a bit and I’d be willing to pay the price per quarter, but I’m wondering if there may be cheaper alternatives that I might not know about? I’m a little tight on cash and I’m very conscientious when it comes to money, but I think I’d want to take a class because it would be a nice opportunity for me to work on my body and meet new people.

Hi guys,

I’m gonna be a junior next year (M20, soon 21) and I’m looking for housing. I’m very unfamiliar with the housing process and I’m commuting off campus right now. However, I really want to live closer to people.

I’m looking for a rent of around $1,000-$1,500. I’m definitely introverted and I like to have privacy and quietness when I feel like I need it. I have sensitivity to loud noises and lots of people (I’m diagnosed on the spectrum). I don’t like partying or drinking either, so I’m overall just looking for a really chill place where I can study if needed. I don’t see myself being there too often, I like to go out and explore and study on campus and I have a car also. I’m currently a physics major but I probably foresee that I will change it next year because I’m not satisfied with it. I enjoy drawing and animation and watching films, and I love learning about geography and physics!

Let me know if you’d be interested.
