As above, not looking for the cheapest, more professional, care with installation in home and support/after care. Thanks in advanced.

Working from home in a garden office about 4 days a week. The office roof is flat, roughly 3m x 2.5m, south-east facing. Running a computer, monitor, heater in winter and a small AC unit in summer. Smart plug says the office pulls about 600-800W during work hours.

Thinking about putting a couple of panels on the office roof to cover the daytime load and maybe a small battery for the mornings before the sun's up properly. The main house already has Go so cheap overnight power is available.

Anyone done something similar with a small roof? Trying to work out whether 2x 400W panels and a 5kWh battery like Anker Solarbank 4 Pro makes sense for this kind of setup or if I'm overcomplicating it. The multi-MPPT input on that unit appealed cos the panels wouldn't be perfectly aligned.

So I'm wanting to have some work done on my house. I'm considering knocking a wall down between my kitchen and living room to open it up as well as extending the rear to make it larger. I've tried using apps like My Builder, Checkatrade, Rated People etc,

I've also tried calling/emailing a few local firms who have all said they'll get back to me, only to never hear from them again. I'd get it if it were a small job but we're not talking half a days work here, it's going to be substantial. I don't know what else to do to find someone.

Hi all, I'm in need of a new roof. I'm completely new to solar, I don't think my house is perfectly aligned for it but I need a new roof anyway so spending a bit extra and having a solar roof fitted seems to be a good idea! (I've been informed this is called an in roof system) I am very apprehensive about trusting someone to do this but really need to get on it asap, can any of you recommend someone who has been in business for a good amount of time, will service the Sheffield area and fits actual solar roofing rather than panels (I just can't see the point in paying someone to fit a roof and then drill a bunch of holes through it for panels...).

In a coupe of weeks I'm due to have solar installed at our house, 8 panels on the house roof and 3 panels on the garage roof.

Whilst in the garage today I've noticed a split in the wood close to the apex of the garage. It's not the side the 3 panels are being installed on but it's prompted me to post this. Any thoughts on next steps ? I've been in the house for 18 years from new.

I'm just about to build a large summerhouse (5 x 4) and have had the main structural timbers for a few years.

I've just been looking at the cladding prices and the prices for plasterboard and I'm shocked how much things are today.

Luckily I purchased nearly all the timber and structural boards for the summerhouse in late 2019. I think the prices have trebled since then.

Has anyone else been put off from doing a project due the the current high prices for materials and just not bothered with the project?

I’ve been looking at the forum and can see people say it isn’t the best battery?
