Not able to complete last week for render period.

Would I be tag as AWOL? I emailed them regarding not being able to finish the last week of my rendering due to personal reasons.

I also sent them all the files for turnover, na may physical copy naman po na naiwan na sa office and inorganize and endorse ko na, para backup lang and documented ang turnover files.

Is going AWOL my only choice now?

Hi! I know going AWOL isn’t the right thing to do, but I’m honestly feeling really conflicted right now.

For context, sobrang baba ng salary ko sa current job ko — ₱600/day, Monday to Saturday, 9 hours a day. Recently, I got offered a position at my dream job, and the salary is more than twice what I’m earning now, plus the schedule is much more flexible.

I already accepted the offer. My original start date was supposed to be June 1, but they’re asking me to start training earlier, around May 18. The problem is, my 30-day rendering period at my current job ends on May 26.

I’ve already submitted my resignation letter, but my employer hasn’t really acknowledged it. He just kept the letter and didn’t sign anything. He also keeps telling me that I can only leave once they find my replacement.

At this point, wala na rin naman akong ginagawa sa current work ko most of the time — I’m literally just sitting around and waiting.

I really don’t want to lose this new opportunity because it’s genuinely my dream job, but I also don’t want to leave in a bad way. The thing also is, there’s no HR department in our workplace, so communication has been really difficult.

What would you do if you were in my situation?

To add: I have no leaves to use kasi po after one year pa raw magkakaroon and I'm going 10 months palang po sa current job ko.
