what actually is being a goth/gothic person?

i know there’s a lot of debate about this, but as someone incredibly interested in the subculture i’m a bit confused. i know this is a question you get a lot, but i am asking in good faith!
ive heard some say it’s all about the music, but ive also heard some people say there’s no such thing as goth music.

i know goth is more of a describing word, but i barely know what goes under that umbrella. please educate me!!

also, if there’s any cool gothic bands you like, please tell me! so far i’ve listened to bauhaus, siouxie and the banshees, and the naked and the dead. the first two are basic, i know, but they’re classics!

how to fix an amp cutting in and out?

i have a VOX Valventronix amp my uncle who was recommended by my uncle who is a much better guitarist then me so i trusted that this would be a good amp. so i got this amp, and ive had this problem recently where its just be cutting in and out but the light to signal that its on stays on.
so ill be able to play for a couple minutes, and then its just fades out, and i fiddle with the settings and it comes back.

i tried using a new cable that i know works, and the issue persisted. in the past i haven’t had issues with my guitar and amps, so i assume its just the amp but im still a beginner in this field.

what i mean by ‘cutting in and out’ is basically that ill play a chord and it’ll just fade out and i can’t hear anything. then ill fiddle with the settings it’ll come back. its been really annoying because i cant play a full song without stopping. should i just get a new amp? is there something i can fix?

(also, sorry for the video being kinda sloppy, but you can kinda hear the amp fade out)

how should i go about this?

i’ve made a lot of scarfs because they’re pretty easy and a good layering piece, but this was the first time i tried putting some scalloped edges on the sides and i really liked how it was shaping out!

however, i ended up 3/4 of the way through because i ran out of yarn! usually i would just buy some more of the same but i got it from my old crochet teacher years ago and there was no identifiable features.

should i completely frog it, should i transition to a new color, should i redo the scarf? i would hate to frog it because this took me hours, but i guess thats what crochet is all about lmao.

TLDR; i lost yarn chicken, how should i finish this project?
