Clinical Mental Health Counseling Masters Program

Is anyone here in the clinical mental health masters program at Georgia State? I’m a little concerned with how good the program is because a 2.5 is the minimum required gpa while it’s 3.0-3.4 at most other institutions. For reference I’m a psychology major at the University of Miami with a 2.96 GPA with 2 semesters remaining. I have minors in American Sign Language & Deaf Culture, Biology, and Counseling with little research experience and work experience at a behavior technician.

USA grad school suggestions for a lower GPA

Just finished my third year undergrad and I'm interested in grad school but I have a lower gpa. I started the year with a 2.5 and I was able to get it up to a 2.9 by the end of this semester but it's still too low for majority of programs.

I took a semester off causing me to graduate later due to a bipolar disorder diagnosis (textbook mentally ill psych major lol) which I plan to write about in my application (should I? I don't want to hurt my application or come off as unstable).

I have a little work and research experience in the field and I think I could get some decent letters of recommendation from my professors/bosses but it still feels like not enough to get in anywhere. Any programs worth checking out? I'm currently interested in Psychology (MA preferred) or Counseling for a future in therapy.

Tulane Behavioral Health MS

I’m interested in Tulane’s Behavioral Health MS but I have a really low GPA that I am working on. I started the school year with a 2.5 and ended up with a 2.9. Tulane is asking for a 3.4 or above but they do mention having a holistic review process.

I meet the general course requirements they’re asking for (B in psychology stats, As in psychopathology and child psychopathology) and I have research and work experience in the field but the GPA requirements makes me feel like it would be an automatic rejection. Is there any point in applying at all? Still not sure who to ask for letters of recommendation as well.
