Music Listening Study for Chronic Pelvic Pain [Australia Residents Only]
Hi everyone!
My coursemate and I are Honours students at Macquarie University, and we are currently recruiting participants for a research study exploring whether music listening may help reduce pain and stress in people living with chronic pelvic pain.
Participants must:
- Have chronic pelvic pain/ an associated condition
- Be assigned female at birth
- Be over 18 years of age
- Have access to a music streaming service
- Be proficient in english
- Live in Australia
- Do not have a hearing impairment that impedes your ability to listen to music.
The study involves:
- Two online surveys (~30 minutes each; before and after the study)
- Creating two 20-minute playlists (one for high-pain days and one for low-pain days)
- Listening to your chosen playlist for 20 minutes a day over one week
- An optional 30-minute interview for selected participants
As a thank you, participants who complete the study will be entered into a draw to win one of six $50 gift vouchers.
