Price match guarantee
Wanted to share my experience for anyone who might be going through the same thing. I tried 4 times. I made sure it was “apples to apples” terms and conditions with Priceline. I took screenshots of everything showing that. It was not a mobile pricing vs desktop. I was not logged in to Priceline.
I submitted the form online to which they said they couldn’t accept it because the cancellation policy was different, Priceline’s was showing partially refundable while Hilton was non refundable - that was not true. I selected both non refundable rates, no cancellation.
I called the next day, spent an hour on the phone with someone who was obviously making up excuses as to why they couldn’t price match…. They saw the price but then I got “The price keeps changing”, “I’m not seeing that anymore”, “I need a screenshot and now it’s higher”, etc etc etc
I called back and got someone different who said I was logged in to see the lower price, that also wasn’t true, in my screenshot you can see the sign in button at the top right. He just kept saying it was denied and wouldn’t give me any other options. I asked to speak with a supervisor, he transferred me to a different department who said they couldn’t help me.
A different rep, she was quicker to help me. At first she said that she couldn’t see the rate I’m seeing but when I told her Priceline had the same exact room listed twice, one with my price and the other with hers, she confirmed and offered to match, gave me the 25% which ended up saving me $500.
TLDR: if you’re 100% certain your terms are the same(use common sense), don’t settle with one answer. Keep calling back.
