M&p 57 and 22x pairing question

I’ve become interested in 5.7 as a carry/defensive round and been trying to do a lot of research into the caliber before buying. Want to be able to train consistently and become proficient with the firearm, but 5.7 is pricy.

From the reviews I’ve seen the m&p 57 shoots so soft it’s “practically a 22.” So I looked into the m&p 22x as a potential range/training analog to save money.

Has anyone here tried this? How comparable is the feel and recoil? I got interested in 5.7 mainly because it felt like I could train 22lr and it would transfer well to the 5.7 vs the 9mm which is an entirely different feel.

Thanks

Extraction ratting idea 2

Pic made with a snipping tool and PowerPoint on a work laptop for visualization’s sake (and because I think it’s funny looking lol).

But I think it would be a good concept. Green item crafted from workbench held up like the photoelectric cloak. Activates door close timer when used while in an extraction zone but allows raider to move around, pull security quickly swap out to fight or hide in pvp heavy lobbies. Significantly cheaper than hatch keys, but far more risky and never given to free kits. So fights around extraction are more unpredictable for rats and less one sided for extracting raiders. But it doesn’t remove extraction camping entirely to preserve the natural tension of the game.

Extract ratting opinion

Not an arc complainers post I promise and almost definitely not an original take. But I honestly think that a massive amount of the general saltiness in the community could be toned down if hitting the extract button started another timer and didn’t animation lock you.

Getting killed while pushing the button always feels 10x worse than successfully extracting feels good to me. If I wasn’t stuck in place and could keep an eye out ready to defend myself fighting around extract would feel thrilling. Especially on extracts that have 4 different avenues of approach that a rat could take. In buried city metro’s or Dam bunker extracts it always feels like “ok time to go do my mandatory rat gamble, hope I didn’t just waste 15 minutes”

There are in game solutions yeah, hatch keys or going carebear for example. But bypassing the tension of extract pvp entirely doesn’t feel like a cool solution.

It would be “cooler” in my view if an extracting raider could keep an eye out and use cover in an extract point that’s ticking down to close the doors after pressing a button. So when pvp happens it’s just an interesting fight like any other.
