Karthus jungle question

What do I do if my lanes get behind and the enemy team just shoves into my jungle? I know karthus jungle’s clear is his advantage but if they’re in my jungle I kind of just die. Do I just accept it and do nothing? Should I buy far sight? Any insight will help, thank you.

question about the gym

I heard full time students supposedly get free access to the gym, and that parking is free there for about 2 hours.

I’m a full time student for the upcoming fall, (literally next week) do I have access to this gym now? Or do I just have to wait a few days for the fall semester to actually start?

How I got bored of shaco (and how he became fun again)

Tl;dr: I kept a very good grasp on jungling macro basics, but played shaco himself in a way that’s most fun to me and nobody else

I’m about plat 2 mainly playing AP shaco but also flexing AD shaco or jarvan depending on team comp.

At some point during my climb I realized I was just bored of AP shaco. When I first played him, it felt like he was unlike any other champion in the game but this recent point almost felt like he was as monotonous as any other champion.

I found out the issue was that I was trying to copy too many shacos from higher up in the ladder like zefath and following too much advice from here. The advice that’s posted here is amazing, but I feel like it’s also wrong to strictly follow everything here like it’s the bible for shaco players. (ie NEVER place boxes like this, only clone during this time, ALWAYS solo drag when ____, etc.,) Zefath is also an amazing player with great jungle macro, but even with the skill diff aside, me and zefath are completely different people.

I decided to have my own creative liberties and it felt like a breath of fresh air. On top of that I’m also playing a lot better and winning games that felt like definitive losses. I feel like what we all like most about shaco isn’t just the trickery, but the amount of expression that comes with playing the champ and each player will express themselves differently. Certain “mistakes” with shaco in their own way could even be proven as useful later to mess with the opponents. The soul of art is within the rough edges.

Overall I think it’s important to see both the advice here and challenger player VODs as tricks in a bag, rather than strictly optimized rules on the champ. The only thing I’d strictly follow guides for is probably jungle macro basics, but even then I wouldn’t go out of my way to copy how higher ups clear since I’d imagine it’s different when your teammates are at least masters+

Is plat just insanely toxic

Tl;dr: I just found out how toxic plat elo is, and it’s even worse if you main ap shaco jungle. Is this actually true or am I just going through some bad luck?

Took a lot of time to learn the game/AP shaco jungle and climbed from bronze to plat.

I’m actually astounded at how toxic plat is, as someone who reached it for the first time. It’s the same quality of teammates, except everyone has an ego now.

This is especially true with AP shaco, where for some reason players have some unrealistic expectation on what shaco is actually able to do. This may come from the fact that many people don’t know AP shaco is someone that farms to get stronger later in the game. For example, I had an ADC go into enemy jungle by himself against 3 people while I was on the other side of jungle and when he died he said “can you do literally anything shaco?” It’s gotten so bad that I just /mute all by default these days.

But even with chat turned off, people still end up griefing. Had a pantheon support that started to just steal camps that I was actively clearly from me whenever he saw the chance and the enemy jungler was also making frequent attempts at counter jungling. As a result I just didn’t have any gold to come online. This is on top of the fact that even during winnable games, players will just disconnect due to a small tilt factor.

I don’t miss silver at all, but I can look back fondly at the fact that people unironically would type in “let ____ carry” or “play around _____”. Here in plat, everyone has some crazy ego and narcissistic savior complex, which doesn’t even make sense to me bc plat isn’t really high elo either. In 2 full days of playing, both days had about 3 people that either disconnected during a winnable game due to tilt, or start intentionally feeding or griefing so that our team doesn’t win. I’ll admit it’s not the majority of games I lose, but even one game that’s griefed or intentionally thrown feels like too much.

Is plat actually this toxic, or am I just having a stroke of bad luck?

Question about box placement around drag

More specifically if i’m playing on the red team. I don’t know the best way I can place boxes that would keep river secure while also preventing the enemy jungler from dashing over the wall and turning it into a smite coin flip.

For blue side, all I have to do is secure the river and place some boxes into their jungle and I basically prevent them from walking in which is really straightforward.

My question is how should I place boxes if I’m on the red team, and I don’t want the enemy to dash over to try and steal drag? Do I prioritize putting more boxes around their jungle so that they don’t get near drag in the first place? Should I place some boxes in the backside of the pit?
