Wifey wants a third baby

I'm a dad of two beautiful daughters, 5 and 2. I'm genuinely at my happiest in life with them and my wife.

My 5 year old is so easy now. We do things together, I don't panic if she disappears into another room, she helps with chores, and she's so funny. My 2 year old is a little ball of energy, makes a huge mess at dinner, is super clingy, and loves cuddles.

The only part of parenting I've never really enjoyed is the newborn/baby stage. I find it hard, and I've done a lot of it with both kids.

I always consciously wanted two children. I knew the first couple of years would be hard, but that things would eventually get easier. And they have. They're sleeping through the night, we can all eat the same food, I don't have to constantly watch them around the house, and I'm finally getting some time to myself.

My wife really wants a third. She mentions it whenever she gets the chance and says she'll do most of the work. She said the same with our second, and although I'm not complaining, I still ended up doing a lot because parenting is a team effort.

The thought of starting all over again. newborn stage, sleepless nights, nappies, constant supervision. just as things are finally getting easier doesn't appeal to me at all.

I'm 38 and she's 36, so I also feel like I'm getting too old to start over again.

I know ultimately it's my decision too, and I don't want to have a child just to make my wife happy. But I do wonder if I'm being unreasonable or selfish.

Edit: I have discussed it with my wife and she knows how I feel. She still keeps mentioning it because she really wants another one

Wasps on my trees

Edit: solved thx very much for all the replies👃👃

Lots of wasps on the leaves of my beech tree and a Hazel tree next to it. Had me wondering why, then had a closer look and I think my tree is full of aphids. Correct me if I'm wrong. The aphids are green and there's also some white things on the leaves.

So the question is, should I be worried about the tree's health?.

In case you're wondering why the tree looks so bad, Its future bonsai material🙂

Yipeeee

Look at them beauties! Four out of five succesfull air layers. From left to right. Silver birch (apparently it's hard to air layer but hey it worked), birch but with darker bark, magnolia tree and last is a cherry blossom. The first two are def. Going to survive the rest have a 50/50 chance of survival as they only had like two roots formed. After a couple of years they're going to start looking like something and hopefully into a proper little tree😍😍😍

Persian tc strat - it sucks

I'm around 1100 Elo and I've been playing since the original Age of Empires II: The Conquerors.

Lately I've actually found lower-rated players harder to deal with because they're all doing the same standard strategies. The upside is that, after seeing them enough, I've figured out how to counter most of them.

When I was lower rated, those same strategies used to catch me out all the time.

The one strategy I've never really managed to deal with is the Persian TC drop.

I know it's part of the game, but I've never liked it. I dislike it so much that I've never even been motivated to learn the proper counter.

Dry compacted clay and stone bank.

Not sure if it’s evident from the picture, but the bank on either side of the steps is a pain to strim and doesn’t look great. The previous owner said that anything she planted struggled and eventually died.

I’ve dug into the soil and it’s really hard to dig down at the moment because the clay is dry and stony.

My theory is that the ground is too compacted for roots to establish properly and that it’s simply too dry.

I definitely want to plant Geranium ‘Rozanne’ as it was successful in my previous garden, which had similar soil.

What else should I be planting? I’m in Northern Ireland.

Thanks.

A lot of material to work with

Look at these bad boys🫠🙂🙃🙂🫠

Japanese holly(i think)

Hazel tree

Birch tree

And the last one god knows what.

Is the best period to work on the roots after winter and before bud breaks?
