Multi-Day Layover in Singapore-- can we retrieve our bags?
My mom and I are traveling to Nepal with a couple days layover in Singapore on our way. My mom's tickets are all booked on one itinerary (SFO -> SIN, 2 day layover in SIN, then SIN -> KTM, then back the other direction at the end of our trip). Mine are separate-- I essentially bought one round trip ticket from SFO -> SIN and one round trip ticket from SIN -> KTM.
Here's my question-- will my mom be able to retrieve her checked luggage in Singapore even though her flight from SIN to KTM is on the same itinerary as her flight from SFO to KTM? Or do we need to put all of her items she needs on our 2 day layover in my checked luggage which I'll have to retrieve in SIN because my SFO to SIN and SIN to KTM itineraries are not connected?
Any advice and information is helpful! We are flying on Singapore Airlines and I found the baggage at transit page on their website which answers this question for other countries, but not if the in-between transit destination is Singapore.
