Singapore tourist visa processing time in usa vfs

I applied for a Singapore tourist visa through VFS global as an Indian passport and my application reached the SF consulate on 14 August (Friday). Yet to get any tracking number or any kind of email from VFS to know the status of the application. Wondering how long it usually takes to process the visa for folks who have applied before. I contacted customer care on Wednesday, they don’t count Friday as business day though they got package in 12 noon, and getting same automated answers. It’s almost 3 business days. I read reddit forum it says vfs is not helpful i have to contact SFO embassy. My booking is all done non refundable. Thanks in advance! I am literally worried any help or suggestions will be helpful.

Travel Recommendations for one week in Singapore

Hi everyone!

My partner is coming to visit me in Singapore for about a week, and I've put together a rough itinerary. The goal is to mix the classic must-sees with more local or underrated spots, while keeping the budget reasonable.

Here's the current plan:

Thursday

  • Jewel Changi & Rain Vortex

Friday

  • Zam Zam
  • Sultan Mosque
  • Kampong Glam, Arab Street & Haji Lane
  • National Gallery
  • Raffles Hotel for the Singapore Sling and Merlion by night

Saturday

  • Singapore Botanic Gardens + snack
  • Evening concert at the Botanic Gardens

Sunday

  • Harbour cruise (DBS)
  • Early dinner at Lau Pa Sat
  • Marina Bay sunset + Spectra + Garden Rhapsody (possibly CÉ LA VI or CapitaSpring viewpoint)

Monday

  • Morning hike

Tuesday

  • Chinatown (flexible day)

Wednesday

  • Little India
  • Nüdam coffee letter-writing experience
  • Dinner at hawker center / restaurant

Thursday

  • Airport

A few questions:

  • Are there any attractions or neighbourhoods we're overlooking that are really worth visiting?
  • Any hidden gems, local favourites, or unique experiences that tourists often miss?
  • Are there places on this itinerary you'd skip because they're overrated?
  • Any great budget-friendly food recommendations (hawker stalls, cafés, desserts)?
  • Is there anything you'd rearrange to make the itinerary flow better?

We're happy walking a lot, love good food, nature, architecture, nice cafés, and authentic local experiences. We're trying to keep costs low while still making the most of the trip.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations or itinerary tweaks! 🙂

Singapore Tourist Pass

Planning a 10day trip in October and will be using the MRT/Bus for transportation. Is the 5-Day Tourist Pass worth it? Will the total cost of travel per day be greater than SGD 9?

What's something interesting happening in Singapore that anyone can just show up to?

Events, workshops, talks, classes, market, festival, hobby meetups, anything that's open to the public.

Basically looking for things to attend, even if I don't know anyone.

Would love to hear about hidden gems that don't usually make it to the tourist lists.

F26, visiting for a few weeks. I'd really appreciate any leads.

What to prepare when traveling to SG for the 2nd time BUT unemployed

Hello everyone, I hope you guys are okay. :) I have a question incase you had a similar experience especially to Filipinos.

My partner and I went to Singapore last March 2024 to watch the Eras Tour and stayed for about 4-5 days. We never encountered any problems with it and enjoyed our whole stay. (I was also 8 weeks pregnant that time)

Our child is turning 2 on October and the morning after our child's birthday, we decided to celebrate it in Singapore for a 5-day trip.

I'm a stay-at-home mom now so I have no income, my partner is also and OFW in UK and will be going with us to SG since it's also during his vacation in the Philippines.

He will shoulder all the expenses (flight, accommodation, activities, food, fare, etc.) — what do we need to prepare aside from the usual documents, have there been any changes upon arriving in SG like aside from the SG arrival card to be filled out and such.

Thank you so much in advance! ☺️

Cheap overnight travel to Singapore

I will be doing a KL and Singapore trip and am trying to decide how to go from the former to latter. I'll have luggage so flights are an expensive option. I was looking for bus options, but the only overnight options are Qistna and Alison Golden Coach. How are these companies?

I am an Indian traveller without SG visa and will be using the VFTF option. So will I be at risk of missing the bus if immigration takes time?

Is there a train/bus hybrid option through Johor Bahru? My KL stay will be in Chow Kit and SG stay in Little India.

Few days in SG, what to experience?

I'm visiting SG for the second time in the next few weeks! Last time I visited Peranakan Museum, National Gallery, Chinatown, Little India, my hotel was in Boat Quay but I didn't visit any bars tho, and of course explore Jewel Changi.

Singapore is expensive so I'm leaning on experiences and something heritage rather than shopping/restaurants/cafes.

I have book a ticket for CapitaSpring and want to go to Garden by The Bay bcs I didn't have the chance to.

But other than that I don't have ideas. I'll be staying in China Town but will have an event in Rochester Park. I have 2 nights when I haven't booked any hotel so if you have cheap recs in somewhere interesting pls let me know too! My budget is around $50 for 2person/night. Preferably real hotel, not capsule/dorm.

Oh and I'd love to visit grocery stores! It's fun looking at what people consume on daily basis! If you have recs of places that have good variety for me to look at, lol

Thanks!

Going to Singapore for the first time. Itinerary feedback please!

Hi everyone! Going to Singapore towards the end of October with a friend for 4 days and would love some honest feedback on our itinerary. It’s our first time, so I’m probably trying to squeeze in too much.

Day 1 – City + Chinatown

We land at 12:15am, so planning to explore Jewel, shower, grab breakfast and head into the city around 6am.

  1. Merlion Park / Marina Bay
  2. Fort Canning Tree Tunnel
  3. Chinatown + Buddha Tooth Relic Temple
  4. Chinatown Complex for lunch
  5. Joo Chiat / Katong in the afternoon
  6. Clarke Quay river cruise
  7. Albert Centre for dinner

I know this is ambitious considering we’ll barely sleep, so let me know what you’d cut!

Day 2 – Sentosa + USS

  1. Cable car to Sentosa
  2. Universal Studios 10am–3:45pm
  3. Siloso + Palawan Beach
  4. Dinner + change at VivoCity
  5. Bugis Street + Arab Street in the evening

What are the absolute must-do rides at USS, and is that enough time? Should we skip Bugis/Arab Street in the evening and do it another day?

Day 3 – Gardens by the Bay / Little India

  1. Little India heritage walk
  2. Gardens by the Bay (Cloud Forest, Flower Dome, Supertree Grove)
  3. Lunch at MBS + indoor break during the afternoon heat
  4. Back to hotel/change
  5. MBS SkyPark around sunset
  6. Lau Pa Sat for dinner
  7. Spectra
  8. Rhapsody at Gardens by the Bay

Day 4 – Changi

Leave the hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring Changi and Jewel before our flight in the afternoon.

Would love tips on anything I should skip, add or rearrange, especially good food spots along these routes and things first-timers often miss!

Also, how manageable is this in October with the heat/humidity?

Thanks!

Please help me! Need advice for my First international travel at SG

Hello I have a flight in Singapore on Aug 26 to Aug 29 with my 2 senior American Citizen cousin. It’s my first international travel. Below is my profile:
a) Male, 48 y/o
b) Working as Purchasing Supervisor in a Japanese
Manufacturing company for 27 years
c) our accomadation in SG was paid by my Singaporean supplier, do you think it is a red flag?
I requested him for an invitation letter if our immigration ask for it. The reason why he paid for our hotel accommodation is because of a sign of goodwill but the airfare and our travel expense like foos, transpo and items to be purchased will be shouldered by us.

I already print my COE, payslips, airline booking, the hotel accommodation, the invitation letter from my supplier just in case the IO will look for it, company ID and bank statement.

hopefully you guys can help or advise me if tama lahat nung mga naprepare kong docs para iwas offload

So, people, what should/can I do now? Any recommendations for places to explore or things to do?

Also, do you guys have a meet-up culture here?

Remote Jungle weekend near sg

Hello everyone,

I’m an exchange student here and I want to do a remote jungle weekend near Singapore. I have the feeling everything that I can find is still really touristic and not remote enough.

Does anyone have recommendations on places, guides or how to do something like that?

Thank you very much!

Can i bring cigarettes from Batam?

Marlboro Gold. Its already opened tho but i don't want to throw it out or smoke all of it so is it ok to bring it to Sg? I'm coming by ferry and i heard the immigration there is harsh.

I know Marlboro gold is sold in SG. And I've also bought two packs from Bangkok too but i think they didn't check because Thailand packaging is the same as Sg.

Island suggestions from Singapore

We’re flying from the UK to Singapore late December to middle of Jan, we have just under 3 weeks in total.

Looking for sugguestions of places to visit that are easy travel from Singapore.

We’ve previously been to Bali (and Nusa Islands), Thailand (Koh Samui, Krabi, Phuket), Vietnam (most of the big tourist locations). I’m been to Malaysia & Sri Lanka (but my husband hasn’t). I’ve also been to Batam off Singapore.

We’re early 30s, no children and would like a high standard of accommodation. Probably want a bit of a mix of adventure and chill. We’re not big party people. Ideally looking for a gorgeous beach / relaxing section for one location. We really like the vibe of Bali with chilled beach clubs, coffee shops and gorgeous restaurants but we’re looking for somewhere a bit less touristy now (I know we are also tourists!!).

Places I’ve considered Komodo or Shumba Island, potentially Philippines or langkawi.

Please send any advice or suggestions!
