Hello! I had scabies for several months and then got diagnosed by a Dermatologist. I did three treatments of Permethrin cream and Ivermectin with one week intervals in between. The treatment worked well and my many bumps and rash gradually disappeared. What didn’t disappear is the very dry skin between my fingers. I was also very vigilant about washing clothes and bedding during this process.

After two weeks of having clear skin and no symptoms I now have several new bumps that have appeared and i am very itchy again. I don’t live with anyone so haven’t been exposed to any other infected parties.

Does this mean I am reinfected or can new red bumps and itchiness appear after a period of no symptoms as part of the post scabies process? I want to go back to the dermatologist but it’s very expensive so I don’t want to go unnecessarily.

Any advice would be very much appreciated I’ve just gotten over the trauma of this experience and now it’s starting all over again. Frankly I’m distraught.
