Scriber Optics - Day 3 as all-day-glasses AMA

I owned the Wayfarers before this and did not wear them more than 3-4 hours at one go as it felt heavier and chunky. So I swap them with my normal progressive frames on and off.

Got the Scriber a few weeks ago and put in progressive lenses at a local optical shop. Collected them 3 days ago.

Today is day 3 of wearing them all day.

Some observations and changes to my daily habit:

Sometime I noticed, I am using my Macbook Pro as a primary device and I paired it as a bluetooth speaker. When I have videos playing, I noticed messages being read out to me (whatsapp) so I'm not sure if it is allowing my iPhone AND my Macbook Pro as audio inputs at the same time. My MacOS never did read out notifications before this. Because it is Meta, I think it is more integrated with IG, FB, and Whatsapp, since they are all Meta products.

I used to wear my glasses into the shower, so that I can wash them as well when showering. I can't do this now, and instead, put the Scriber into the case to charge up. The charging is surprisingly fast and I get around 30-50% charge during shower / oral care time.

Battery life for the new Metas are good. With normal usage like notifications, replying Whatsapp messages, a few photos a day, a few videos a day, some Meta AI chatting, it lasts 6-7 hours.

When at workdesk, I will charge it up when I can and wear my normal glasses.

I had the "touch pad" touch and hold button assigned to Spotify or Meta AI and my hair (I have medium length hair) seems to activate it accidentally. Have had to disable it. That kinda sucks. I use the new action button on top to activate Meta AI. I disabled "Hey Meta" coz I think it uses more battery to be always listening.

I'm using "3 dots" nose inserts and don't find 1, or 2 dots any much different. Even with 3 dots, I still find them low and the base of the frame touches my cheek with I smile. I ordered some non-slip nose pads and will see if they sit better with them stuck on. My nose aches slightly.

After wearing for about 3-4 hours, the weight is better compared to the Wayfarers but somehow the area around the temple tips ache. I've adjust the temple tips (applied firm pressure with thumbs pushing the bends) slightly "outwards" and it feels slightly better but they slip more now. I'm thinking of ordering the silicon "bumpers" for the temple tips.

Nose ache, temple tips ache - Will wait a while more since may take getting used to the new frames.

Will update here if the nose pads help with comfort + slippage, and then the silicon temple tips should I go ahead and apply them.
