I have 15 tons of sand in a pile that I’ve been using for leveling, so there’s still some sand visible. It’s still pretty uneven, probably going to take the rest of the year. This is cut down to .5” with my Rolux reel mower. I’m hoping to have it mostly leveled and looking good by the end of the growing season here, which is pretty short.

Total noob to reel mowers, please help me set the HOC.

I am pretty sure I need to loosen the two bolts on the far left in the second photo, and then crank the silver hex nut to adjust the HOC. But it was really hard to crank and I couldn’t tell if it was even moving. Is there any tips for adjusting one of these?

Is a 20 year plan to make a couple golf holes on my own property reasonable?

I own an L shaped property in Northern Colorado that is about 32 acres. It is currently just dry prairie grass other than a few acres that are landscaped around my home.

I live in a nice ranchette area where the minimum lot size is 5 acres. I own four 8 acre lots that are all continuous, basically an entire section of the neighborhood.

Anyways, I want to slowly create a golf course that me and my friends and neighbors could play on casually.

I want to start planting trees now, and I want to build a pond to irrigate with. The biggest problem is the only water available is well water. So I want to fill a large reservoir so I can eventually add large pumps so I can irrigate a fairway and green.

I would be okay investing maybe 50k/year for the next 20 years into this project. Do you think it’s doable?
