Elegoo Mars 4 9k or Mars 5?

I’m trying to decide on my very first resin printer and I’m looking for suggestions. I have some knowledge of resin and how go about handling safely (I have used 2-part epoxy resin and I’ve resin in crafts before) but this will be my first ever resin printer. I’ve only had FDM printers before this.

I was originally thinking of going for the Mars 5 as it’s on sale, had good features, and I have a limited budget and space. But I recently spotted a Mars 4 9k for VERY cheap. From what I’ve seen from reviews both have good quality on top of some pros and cons.

Which would be better to go for? Are there any other options I should look into other than Elegoo? I’m mainly looking for something kind of small but company has good customer service. If any one could chime in with any experience they have with either of these printers that’d be super helpful!

The board is an old mainboard for a 3d printer. The board isn’t dead (it still accepts power and is able to route it in a way that turns on the LED strip for the printer) but the damage seems to have affected motor movement and my computer recognizing the printer being plugged in. Without a way to fix the damage I’m not sure I can run the printer anymore.

I’m very new to pcb’s and a bit unsure how to start going about the repair. Any steps (no matter how simple) would be greatly appreciated!
