Windows 10 Boot Loop – Stuck on Blank Blue Screen with Cursor via USB Installer
My PC recently got stuck in a Windows logo boot loop. To fix it, I used a second computer and the official Microsoft Media Creation Tool to make a bootable USB drive.
Here is what I've done so far:
- Checked the BIOS to ensure Secure Boot is disabled (Pic #1).
- Restarted and spammed F11 to bring up the boot menu (Pic #2).
- Encountered two options for the USB stick: UEFI and standard USB boot (Pic #3).
The Issue:
- Selecting UEFI: The system reverts to the ASRock splash screen with a spinning wheel, then hangs (Pic #4).
- Selecting USB: The system goes to the Windows logo screen with a spinning wheel, then hangs (Pic #5).
Both options ultimately lead to the exact same result: a blank blue screen where I can move the mouse cursor around, but nothing else happens and I cannot interact with anything (Pic #6).
Additional Details:
- I have remade the USB installer twice.
- The boot USB is plugged directly into the rear motherboard ports (all USB 3.0).
- The only other connected devices are a wired mouse and keyboard plugged into the front panel.
- Running Windows 10 on an ASRock motherboard.
Any advice on how to get past this blue screen and get things back up and running would be greatly appreciated!
