Opened my email and received news that my ~$40,000 of student loan debt is going to be forgiven and discharged due to being on SSDI!

Even better is that up to my bachelor's degree will be free due to Pell grants and state aid.

This was totally unexpected and I was already in the process of going back to college in August to finish my associate's degree. Then going for the bachelor's!

Basically, this windfall makes me debt-free!

The only bad thing is that if I get more student loans after this, you basically lose my SSDI.

But maybe I'll do well enough in school to get lucky with merit scholarships if I want to get more than a bachelor's degree in the future?!

I can't move in fully until next week, but now I have a place to stay after being homeless for the past three years.
