Paternity test
I'm wondering how long it took you to get a paternity test after filing a SAPCR? Feels like it is taking forever just to set logistics

I recently filed for custody and child support and I’m starting to wonder if I should switch attorneys this early in the process. Communication has been really slow (multiple texts/calls often go unanswered for weeks/days) and I’m not sure we’re aligned strategically on the likely outcome of the case.
I’m hesitant to change lawyers now that things are already filed and underway. Has anyone switched attorneys early in a custody case, and did you regret it or feel it was worth it?
Should you give updates to bio dad even if he never asks about his child? I feel like things are very one sided and I'm carrying all the weight in all the ways.
I found out I was pregnant shortly after breaking up with my ex. From the get-go, he wanted an abortion, and pushed for right until the deadline to try to pressure me. But when it became clear I was keeping my baby, he lawyered up and threatened me to do a paternity test. By this time I had relocated out of state to be near support so I ignored these threats for the most part. I continued to act in good faith and gave updates but the letters and threats kept coming so I filed a suit a few months to get some structure and I'm now afraid. He doesn't care about me or the baby at all. Has anyone been in a similar scenario or have any advice?
Is it normal for paternity/custody cases to move slowly in the beginning? We confirmed a testing location last week and I still haven’t heard anything about scheduling. Trying to figure out what’s “normal” versus concerning.
What are some must haves in a custody plan, especially with someone who has been coercive and controlling?
