First-time investor with £5,000 – looking for advice

I’m about to invest my first £5,000 and I’m planning to do it through Trading 212. I’ve never invested before, but I’ve finally decided I’m ready to get started ASAP.
If you were in my position, how would you invest the £5k? Would you put it all into a global ETF like the S&P 500 or FTSE All-World, or split it between different funds/stocks?
I’m investing for the long term and I’m not looking to trade daily. Just wanted to hear what more experienced investors would recommend before I hit the buy button.
Any advice or things you wish you’d known before making your first investment would be really appreciated!

Had H. pylori last year—could these symptoms mean it’s returned?

Hi everyone, I’m trying to figure out whether my current symptoms could be related to H. pylori.

For the past few weeks I’ve had upper stomach discomfort/pain, sometimes a burning sensation, nausea, and an uncomfortable feeling like I need to fart or have a bowel movement but can’t fully do so. My bowel movements have been irregular, sometimes small amounts, sometimes loose or oddly shaped.

I was prescribed lansoprazole and while I was taking it, my symptoms improved quite a bit. Since stopping it, the burning and discomfort have started to come back.

I spoke with my GP and they’ve agreed to prescribe an H2 blocker and a laxative because constipation may also be contributing to the symptoms.

One thing I’ve noticed is that when I smoke cannabis, both the stomach pain and nausea improve significantly, although I know that doesn’t necessarily mean the underlying problem is gone.

I haven’t been vomiting, I’m still passing gas, and my abdomen isn’t severely swollen. I’ve also lost about 2 kg because I’ve been eating less due to the symptoms.

I should also mention that I had H. pylori last year and completed treatment. I didn’t experience any significant side effects from the treatment—in fact, I noticed my stomach pain improved on the very first day and continued to get better from there.

Has anyone with confirmed H. pylori had similar symptoms after previously being treated? Did lansoprazole or other acid-reducing medications help before you got diagnosed or treated again?

Possible tinea versicolor? Dark patches feels sore

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some opinions/advice because I’ve been stressing over my skin recently.
I went to the doctor and they think it’s tinea versicolor / a fungal skin infection. They prescribed me Nizoral 2% shampoo treatment but I actually haven’t started using it yet.
The main thing is I’ve got patchy dark areas on my back, chest, arms and thighs, with some flaking/scaling when the skin stretches. On darker skin it doesn’t really show up white — it looks more like darker uneven patches clustered together.
Recently some of the spots have started to feel a bit sore/sensitive, especially after showering or when rubbing against clothing, which is what’s worrying me. I’m not sure if soreness can happen with fungal infections or if maybe irritation/dryness is involved too.
I don’t really have much itching, but the texture and discoloration are noticeable and it’s affecting my confidence a lot.
Has anyone here had something similar on darker skin?
Did Nizoral/ketoconazole actually help?
Did the soreness happen for you too?
How long did it take for the skin colour to return to normal after treatment?
Did it spread before treatment started?
Would appreciate honest opinions or experiences because I’m trying not to panic before I start the medication.
